I meant to ask, does everyone get a HV visit to discuss weaning at 4 months? I'm hoping i'll get some freebies I take it they do it now in case i'm planning on starting now, and to tell me not to? lol

Sorry to hear about the neighbors and ex being a W, why do men disguise them self's so well when you are dating them then once they get comfy WHAM out pops the nutter lol

No idea what A weighs haven't had him weighed since he was 7 weeks my baby clinic is only on 1 afternoon a week on a day that i can't make, how typical.

Glad you are well will need to catch up on the gossip feel completely removed from all the going on's. Don't feel sorry for me though it's all my own fault skiving to have a RL (and failing miserably lol) A is needing burped so I am exiting to bed, night all and i promise not to disappear for so long again.

PS no idea about the HV visit........ the only freebies we get are lectures lol

My HV came at around 3 months for a weaning chat. Any of the HVs I have spoken to all say that although it's 6 months, if your baby is showing signs of hunger earlier, it's up to you. Basically "don't rush it" but they were happy that the choice was yours to make as long as you wait until after 17 weeks which is normally the recommended minimum (I know of a couple of people who were advised to do it sooner). No freebies though for us.

Lol! Yeah he did fool me, still does now i always go soft on him but he's consistent i'll give him that.

Fitz aww no freebies On the phone she said something about a "pack" so i got all excited lol!! I've already been and bought everything to start weaning, and was gonna give her some baby rice the other day because she'd been unsettled and showing the signs for a good few days, but then decided i'm too lazy and will leave it longer. She's ok now though so i'm assuming growth spurt.
She's 4m+1w now, Cameron was well on his way by now, think we started at 3 and a half months. But the advice was to start at 4m then.

Weaning freebies in the bounty bags, I got two

Just been catching up, our electric was off most of today so haven't been able to keep up. Just to let the Ikea meet people know I will be there tomorrow and so will Lou66 with her parents.

Hi Jenny. I have a voucher for Sainsburys for Bounty pack, so assuming that's the same one. Not sure as Csh had a different one I think. Will collect it this week anyway.

You might get different things down south Beenie. I would put of weaning as long as possible! It was soooo much easier when H just took milk! I think she quite happily would still just do that to be honest!

I'm going to put the light out now too. I am sleeping in the spare room tonight to try and get a better nights sleep as I can ignore the monitor for a bit longer if I hear H babbling rather than jumping up in case she wakes DH up. But here I am chatting to you! That wasn't the plan. Night. x

P.S. What about the O Baby Atlas. MDW loves hers. They have a couple of different pink designs and they are pretty inexpensive as far as new pushcairs go. Not tried it myself mind you. I want the Cath Kidson McLaren, but don't think I can justify the extra money just for a fancy pattern! Night. x

Morning all,

I am shattered, E ad me up at 4.40 for a feed then he decided he was awake so I brought him downstairs and he fell asleep after half an hour and is back in bed, well I felt too awake to go back to bed but now I am shattered, but OH will be getting up in a hour so I think whats the point going back to bed, I will prob regret that decision later

I hope E lets me get a nap later lol

We are both at drs at 10.40 and I hope he behaves for her lol

Is this your 6 week appointment then?

K still hasn't reached E's birthweight yet! And I look at how big he is now and think about how Elliot is bigger and it makes my eyes water thinking of your labour :rotfl:

We were invited to a weaning party at the Sure Start centre when Charlotte was about 4-5 months. There were other babies of a similar age there. Everyone put their babies on a mat with toys in the middle and they rolled around together, while the HV discussed how to wean, she showed us how to make baby food rather than buy jars and generally talked about nutrition and stuff.

Then we got a bag with leaflets, coupons, a sippy cup and some spoons. I can remember the cups as they were all blue and the HV was really apolgetic as Charlotte was the only girl and she didn't have any pink cups left

It was with the HV who has four children of her own, and I really enjoyed listening to her, as she talks from experience rather than reciting what "they" say we should do. She says things like "well guidelines say....... but of course that doesn't always happen so with our XXX I did ..............."

my RL friend has an obaby atlas but her little boy can't nap in it because of those bars next to the head rest are uncomfortable when they loll their head sideways IYSWIM? So I think it's a great buggy, but maybe not as an early buggy, just going from her feedback.

OH! Cath Kidston on a pram! jealous! It would be mean for me to have one with 2 boys right? xxx:)
