HSINhouseWindow02HL.gif Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Friday 23rd April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning lovely OS-ers!

Happy St Georges Day!!
bday2.gifstefjb - Hope you have a really good day! present.gif
Emptypockets - Welcome hon. Good to have you with us.
LadyGrim - hugs.gifI hope the wake helped in some small way to comfort you a little.
Gemma - Hope your father feels better today and one good thing about being Antiguan is that English is still the main language spoken there so you won't be confusedgiggle.gifgiggle.gif
Cranky - hugs
Lowesy - glad you have an earlier date and that your neck has stopped hurting.
Topsy - Pleased your son is doing OK.
Haribo - Always lovely to see you posting
Penpin - I hope you are feeling better
Donny-gal - Take it easy hon and look after those knees.
SunnyGirl - hugs hon
JackieG - Clever Coco! I also train animals and have carefully trained my cat to trip up my OH whenever she needs feeding and to always lie in the most awkward place at the top of the stairs.giggle.gif
Still not up to much but haven't been sick for two days so that is good. Rang the clinical nurse at the hospital yesterday due to OHs nagging and it turns out I should have been prescribed something to help with the vomiting/sickness and heartburn since I came out of hospital but it was overlooked I guess.
My Godson came up and did some garden work for us yesterday - oiled the bench and cut the lawn and swept, tidied and weeded the patio area. (Have yet to discover where he put the scaffolding planks my OH got from Freecycle to build raised beds with, but suspect they are hidden under the trees somewhere!) I intend to try and get out today and pot up the chillis and peppers and tomato plants at least.
I hope everyones day is as good as it can be. TGI Friday! With love, light and warm gentle HShuggies.gif to anyone who wants one.

    Morning Peeps

lovely and sunny here but quite cold BRRR!

    Happy St Georges day!

First shift of seven earlies for me now so i need some earlyish nights.

I still ache from spending all yesterday in the garden but it was well worth it. All the garden furniture is now painted and looks lovely. Later if my back ache has eased i shall start on the sleepers.

The self watering containers are now up and running with the peas in, i think that i`ve overfilled the water in them but they are in the greenhouse so hopefully some of it will evaporate in the next couple of days.

All the plants are now repotted, 30 in all and they are spread out between the house and the greenhouse. The winter lettuce in there is just about ready to eat so hopefully we shall be having some free meals soon. I need to get on with the planting too as i`ve a bit more space now.

This morning i`ve put the washing machine and dishwasher on before leaving the house and i also nuked all last months receipts in the incinerator in the garden before it got light. When i get home later i can put everything back where it should be outside so am pleased with that now.

    Right best get on!

Happy Birthday Stefejb - :bdaycake:have a fantastic day

Diva - Glad to hear that you are feeling better

    Have a fab Friday everyone.

    Hi everyone.

MSD - I hope you have a good day today. Have you managed to get some medication?

N9eav - hope the coffee does the trick!

Well, the weather looks good in the UK for the weekend and, apart from some rain today, it should be good here, too. We have DS2, DIL and little Summer arriving here tomorrow evening so we have been working hard getting the house free of all the dust from the renovating that has been going on constantly over the last few months. The house still needs a lot more work but, for now, we are just concentrating on making it ready for our visitors. We are so looking forward to having them here, especially as we didn't think they would be able to get a sailing booked because the ferries have been so busy lately. I just have to wait patiently and try not to worry too much when I know they are on the road. They should arrive in Caen around mid-afternoon tomorrow, then will have a four and a half hour drive to get here, probably longer than that because they haven't done the trip before, and they will also want to stop more often than we do because they will have an eight-month old with them! It will be Summer's first foreign holiday, too!

Anyway, today's dinner will be pork chops probably with roast potatoes and veggies - I haven't had time to do a roast this week because we've been so busy working on the house. I will try and do a menu plan for this coming week, too; I haven't done one for ages.

Well, I hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning All & Happy St Georges Day :j

    Good to see you Diva

    :j:beer: Happy Birthday Steff:beer::j

Another lovely sunny day here today, and its friday :T

Shall get some washing on but will spend the rest of the day in the office. Have got a busy weekend planned so hope to get a lot done.

Ironing pile is beginning to scare the family now I am sure it is breaking several H&S regulations so really need to think about reducing that later.:o

Nice and easy fish in breadcrumbs for dinner that were on special in Tesco.

Dad came over again yesterday (which is another reason I am so behind) and we popped out to a garden centre we hadn't been to before and picked up some more seed potatoes. Plan is to get them in this weekend.

Anyway better go - have a great Friday.x

    Morning all,

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Stef, have a great day.

Beautiful here again today, hung some washing out last night, which is almost dry, will leave it out today. OH is coming home filthy each night again, so getting through a load of work clothes.

Kathy enjoy seeing your family, I bet you cant wait to have a cuddle with Summer xx

I am off to work today, but finish at lunchtime so not bad, chilli for tea, OH will hopefully make it :T, must get the mince out.

Looks like its going to be a beautiful weekend, probably a bit too hot for those running the marathon.

Usual swish and swipe before i go to work. I need to get OH to put up my hanging basket brackets this weekend, I have some hanging tomato plant babies, which will soon need putting up. Hopefully I will have a good crop this year :T

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

Ladygrim, I beleive its the funeral today, I do hope all goes well xx

    Morning all!
Nothing more from the Financial Advisor / Mortgage Company / Credit Card Company, so hopefully all is now well! Wish things would hurry along a bit - we could do with a firm moving date so we can book boarding for animals etc.
OS today - dinner is LO burritoes (frozen from a couple of weeks ago). Lunch is whatever's left in the fridge! need to have a quick tidy 'round too. Other than that it's just packing, packing and more packing! Deep joy. I'm bored of this moving lark now...

    Morning all

I'm off on Day 3 of my 10 day Learning Coach course today. Not looking forward to it because it's such a lovely day and i don't want to be stuck indoors. I've made my own lunch cos last time the lunch was awful and I'm on a diet so want to stick to it especially as I'm going out for dinner tonight. Going to a Toby carvery, I'm veggie so will just have the veg and potatoes so shouldn't ruin the diet too much! I'll have to ignore the giant yorkshire puds though!

No OS planned for today - does taking the bin out count?! :rotfl: Yesterday I made a big pot of chillli for dinner and had enough for 3 big portions left over so have frozen them along with 2 portions of leftover rice.

    Have good day all

Emptypockets - Welcome hon. Good to have you with us.

    Ahh Thanks :D

    Good morning everyone.

Well, another beautiful morning here in Derbyshire. I'm feeling fresh and energised today (unlike yesterday) so feel like I'm going to get lots done. It's Friday, which means shopping day for us. After doing this post I'm going to sit and do a meal plan and shopping list. After that, water the plants and maybe do a few trays of seeds...

Waiting for a call from the vet today, our doggy has Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and her pain medication is no longer working for her :( Please keep fingers crossed that we can do something else i.e change her medication. I don't want to think about the alternatives...

Right well I'm gonna have a forum-browse while I finish my cuppa, then get to it :)

Have a great day everyone x

Edit: forgot to add, I cooked an extra jacket spud last night so that's my dinner today, with leftover bologneise on top. Yum! Tonight tea?? Will have to wait 'till meal plan is finished!
