Fraudulently Claiming Disability Benefit?

Hi Guys,
I have recently stumbled across the blog of a girl who claims disability benefit, and states it is her only income.
She says she claims it for anxiety and social phobia issues.
At first I sympathised with this as I suffer with the same,
However I really feel like she is not entitled to the benefits she is claiming
Her blog posts regularly mention her going to clubs, going on day trips, shopping and even going to watch a programme be recorded at the bbc,
she also posts highly confidant pictures of herself to show her fashions/ outfits to her readers, she looks very outgoing in unique and crazy outfits and make-up
Now I'm not saying she hasnt had issues in the past, but surely someone with that sort of normal young adults behaviour is not entittled to disablility benefit now
She manages to do far far more than me, and many others I know with similar issues, yet I can still manage to have a job, even though I wont leave my town!
any thoughts, ??

She's probably a member on here; lots of the young benefits claimants seem to live like this!0

All of the things you describe could be part of a personality disorder, or perhaps she chooses to show this outward image to hide what is really going on. Either way, there is nothing to suggest fraud.Gone ... or have I?0

Aside from the rest (she sounds like a complete scumbag), being in tv audiences is actually often free so probably just about the only thing she CAN justify doing!:cool:0 -

What makes her sound like a scumbag? Would you prefer that she sat in the house 24/7 and did not try to move forward with her life?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Are you for real?!
Yes, there is nothing in the given information that suggests fraud. Those with mental health problems can often demonstrate overly outgoing behaviour, often to the extent of such behaviour being socially undesirable.
You can read more about such conditions on the Royal College of Psychiatrists website.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Clubs/daytrips/shopping could all be indicative off mania during bi-polar or impusivaty as part of a PD (i.e BPD)
As could the spending on clothes.
When i had a hypomanic reaction to my meds i ended up going out (even though this usually led to the depression worsening and increased suicidal behaviours). I tried throughout my years at uni to be "normal", trying not to let anyone see that inside i was losing it. Many MI people put on a front. I held down a full time job (till it got too much)
I'm not saying this is definitely happening, it could be her condition improved and she has/hasn't informed the DWP. But i think based on what info you have its hard to say one way or the other. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I get your points, but she specifically describes her condition as Social Phobia and Anxiety not 'mental health issues' or Depression
I just feel like sitting in an audience or going to a nightclub would be almost impossible for somebody with social anxietys bad enough to claim disability
I would just say I am an anxious person and I wouldnt do half the things she does0 -
