Big problems with some C1/107/Aygos still on water leaks despite new door seals.

Thanks for the suggestion but the C1/107/Aygo clones look at least %10 better on fuel economy which is my primary reason for this choice of car.

OK no worries... but you must do quite a lot of miles if the difference between 57.6mpg and 62.8mpg comes into the equation!
European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.

We bought a C1 in 2006 for my wife and youngest daughter to share. My wife has just got another new C1 and my daughter has taken over the original one completely. The 06 C1 had the door seals problem, although only the passenger side and only if the car was parked with the passenger side away from the kerb. The new one doesn't have any problems with water ingress.

Great little car to drive, but get the 5-door for ease of access into the rear.

Not sure that's the case in the real world, there's quite a few IQ owners on the Toyota Owners Club forum complaining about fuel consumption.

Just a thought about Aygo/107/C1 purchase, Toyota have a offer on at the moment for either 3 years free servicing or a 5 year warranty on their cars. May make the difference?

    ????

unless you mean the Toyota IQ and the i10. And I think the i10 is an ugly little car (mind you the IQ isn't much better and it's a two seater isn't it?)

I have had two 107's one a 3 dr, and currently own a 5 dr.

We looked at the 107, C1 & Aygo. All are made at the same factory - all are 95% the same car. The only differences according to all the dealers were more or less cosmetic inside and the shells differed.

Depending on what you are looking for -

When we were looking at them we went to all three dealers, as I wanted a brand new car.
The C1 was the cheapest- but they don't make them in the 2 trontic (semi automatic)

Pegueot usually have fab deals on their 107's and are willing to knock at least £1000 if you can time it right, they also have good deals on 2nd hand cars as well, as do Citroen.
Toyota Aygo's are the most expensive for some reason, when we went to price one up - the salesman was just trying to flog us the black alloy wheeled type for about £2k more than a 107. The reason? 'cos it was black and had alloys
Anyway I got the 107 semi auto. Never had any trouble with it, no seals/leaking problems. When I changed it for a 5dr 107 I did have trouble with the accelerator pedal sticking - although it was announced as a Toyota problem, Pegueots were also affected, but mine was sorted out straightaway, no fuss and no further problems.
I love driving mine, it's cheap to run, only £35 for the year car tax, and cheap to insure. Also can hold their own on the motorway - hilarious when taking over audis and mercs (although they do catch up :p) due to the respect factor - little car = others try to bully you.
I would get a 5dr - as someone else as said, just for ease of getting in and out.

    HTH :)

I've got a 57 reg 107, bought the "urban lite" model as only wanted it to go to work in, paid £5995 back then!
Great on fuel, had no leaks whatsoever, just hit 50,000 miles in it, and only gone through 1 full set of tyres, and one front set in that time.
For the next set of tyres I've bought some through ebay, got a full set of tyres on wheels including trims for under £100. So next time they need replacing, just a few minutes to swap them over.
Apart from that, I've only had to replace one set of brake pads (£20 from halfords) and the headlight bulbs last week.
It may be small, but I can't be happier with it, I do 350-400 miles a week commuting in it and it's never missed a beat, and I only have to fill up once a week.
Road tax goes down to £20 this year, and insurance is mega cheap fully comp.
