Only brought the car 2 months ago, spent £200 on it already for washer jets which is a common ford problem that never w\as on reall now, this power steering fluid pipes have burst!! Which is also a common fault, very dissapointed with ford as these should definatly be on recall. Sold my fiat grande punto for this familu car and prefer Fiat by far!!! Which I am ashamed to say, at least they were always honest with reacalls or paid percentage of costs if it was a know failure even out of warranty!0

They have reduced goodwill payouts massively and even if they had offered you some goodwill if you had bought and serviced your car their every year for 4 years it would only bring the cost down to what you are paying your independent.0

Would take a guess yours isnt an lx. 5 year old Lx screams fleet pool car to me so would take a bit of a battering and not a lot of love.0 -
After the problem with my power steering I have also had the wheel alignment and tracking checked and then yesterday the steering didn't feel right and I have been told that there is a fault with the steering column0

Hi Guys,
I just bought a second hand Ford Focus, 1.6 2005, its got Power steering oil Leakage right on the pump. Could I be guided how I can replace the pump, bearing in mind that I am from Malawi, Central Africa?
I also need to replace the Engine Mounting. Damn, I am begining to think I got a raw deal, but I just have to replace these two part. I wont mind second had one ( the car is second hand anyway)!
I need reliable sources so I wont lose money.
Any ideas?0 -
Ford UK did a recall on the PAs pumps/pipes as they were prone to leaking/failing. not sure if it's the same story for African ones.
However, its a nightmare of a job to get the pipes off!
Edit: just noticed I'd already mentioned the difficulty in this thread last year...0 -

Chances are they're the heated ones like my Mondeo, not just two bits of plastic with a hole in.i don't know what you mean by common fault,my focus is over 6 years old now and my washer jets are fine.0 -
