Of course people are allowed to have thier say, but the site rules are really clear and I dont understand why people cant understand them.

I feel sorry for so manypeople who come here asking for advice and people just get so judgemental in thier hours of need.

the OP asked a question about her entitlement, not who she should be having a relationship with.

I'm afraid I have to agree with what others have said, discussion would be very dull (and unhelful) if people were effectively gagged by site rules to the point where they couldn't pass comment on anything but the financial aspect. I appreciate that sites like this must have rules, but this site would lose all of its (massive - its great!) appeal to me if it effectively removed the right to free speech.:(

This individual has asked for advice re the financial implications of her boyfriend moving in with her. People have responded by pointing out the other implications, those on her children and herself. Fairy nuff if you ask me..

thems the breaks I'm afraid, you post something on an open forum and you open yourself up to criticism, nobody has been blatantly nasty, a lot of what people have said she should perhaps listen to as it may be of some help to her!!

edited to add- oops that's me having an opinion, hope that's OK?!?

Be careful Amistoso, lynzpower likes to report anyone that dares to disagree with her! ;)

If he has not paid sufficient NI Conts over the past two years (unlikely if he has been FT at college) he will not be entitled to JSA.

What? I got my JSA instantly after uni with no contributions due to not being given the chance...

He won't be eligible because he will be moving in with someone with an income. If he stayed living with his family he would be eligible to claim means tested JSA.

Which would've been income based - unless you worked for the 2 previous tax years and paid enough NI.

Off topic but this reminds me of that 21 aged girl who killed herself because she couldnt get a job after 200 applications despite having 10 gcse grades at A, B and 3 A-levels.

Proves how bad this country is.

How does it prove that? It proves nothing of the sort, what tosh. Nobody, with the best will in the world, could legislate to avoid that kind of tragedy. If she's been given a guaranteed job straight out of college, likelyhood is that another of life's trials and tribulations would have pushed her over the edge. If she couldn't cope with unemployment, how would she cope with divorce? Losing a child? Unfortunately some people just aren't able to cope, nothing to do with politics!
