Oh Tired-mum, hope you get it sorted.x0
-
Morning all.
Now, don't faint in amazement that I'm online before midday!:D
Many, many thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday; Mr LW had the day off w*rk, and we had a lovely day out - visited the National Space Centre, for which we already had a pass, so very MSE:D, and a quiet meal at our favourite pub in the evening followed by vintage champagne when we got home. I got a total of eight cards - that's more than I've ever had in my life! Turns out Mr LW rang a few people to "remind" them!:rotfl:
GemmaBuckle belated birthday wishes for you.
Lindy-Loo oh, your poor niece! I do sympathise - Mr LW virtually has to sit on me every time I have to have a blood test. Hossy food isn't nice either, I know - I always tell people to say they're veggie, even if they're not, as you're more likely to get something vaguely edible that way!;) I do remember being in for my jaw operation in 1983, I got a fairly presentable cottage cheese salad, and everyone else had extremely tired looking ham and soggy mash.:rotfl: Anyway, I hope the poor lass feels better soon, and can get home to convalesce.
Oh gods, I've forgotten everything else I was going to say.....
*thinks*
Oh yes, Diva I hope the ickiness subsides soon; most unpleasant, I'll bet.
And welcome Emptypockets
Now, I'd better do an OS bit, or the BGs will have my hide....
Actually, I was panicking this morning - I have a day and a half's Flylady to do (half of yesterday's was done in advance, luckily); I'm also meant to make bread rolls, cakes, and blackberry fool. And I have zero energy, as I used it all up yesterday!:rotfl: Still, Mr LW has said he can buy something at work if necessary (like heck he will, but it was nice of him to offer) and he's said he'll substitute as "Flyboy" when he gets home.:A
Right, I'd better go and see where my get up and go has got up and gone to.:rotfl:
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.
ETA Tired mum Oh no, bummer! Hope it gets sorted out satisfactorily. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Morning all,
Ladygrim - I am so sorry for your loss ((hug))
Diva - sorry you are feeling rough - it's nice to have you back though!
tiredmum - hugs for you
I have been AWOL for a few days as we've had our department annual recess (back to back seminars really). It's quite draining, but I learnt loads. I'm shattered and I ache after the end of recess cedilih last night. It was great fun, but reminded me how unfit I was and how I think I would feel after a trip to a renegade chiropractor. Not much OSing going on as they feed us on site to stop us escaping.OH had never been to a cedilih before - so it was an experience for him too.
I have a long day at work too as I'm ensconced I another one of these "decided and agreed over too much wine at dinner" work projects. I did hoover the flat before I left for work and put a load of laundry on. Dinner tonight will be pasta probably.
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning all!
Belated bday wishes to Lamewolf and Gemma! Hope you both enjoyed them xx
Had a great evening yesterday, went to see the Alarm, my friend reminded me that I first saw them 25yrs ago this week, she has a memory! It was great to relive my teenage years, had ex with me and he didn't seem too impressed by them, but then he was about 7 or 8 in their heyday, so perhaps he hadn't got many memories to relive lol!
OS today will be rummaging in my understairs magic cupboard to find stuff for party bags for dd3's party on Saturday, planning hm party food and sorting out dinner for tonight, which I think is pizza, sure I put the dough in the fridge, just need to hope that the chorizo didn't get munched whilst I was out yesterday!
Also need to drop into see a friend and get him to sign the form for dd1 to do her work experience at his hotel, and go with ex to pick up ds's new scooter.
Work tonight and tomorrow, and was dreading it as I was soooo tired yesterday, but I had a cracking night's sleep last night and feel so much better for it! dd2 pulled off the double duvet that was under her bottom sheet as she said it was making her too hot, so I popped it on my bed as I had nowhere else to keep it, so now I have 3 duvets under my bottom sheet and feel a little like the princess in the princess and the pea story, but boy is it comfy!
Hope everyone has a good day, I'd best go and feed Henry before I go and collect this bike! xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Oh tired-mum that's carp isn't it? You might have some sort of recourse to the hotel though if it doesn't state anywhere in their literature about overbooking...? I'm no legal expert but I'd be banging down their door for some sort of compensation if it were me.
And don't worry I'm sure you'll find something just as good for a reasonable price - when are you going?

tiredmum, you would have thought booking so far in advance you would have taken priority? Bloomin annoying, hope you get it sorted okay.0
-
I booked via a co called ICR all bits were booked seperatly last may through them anyway there is good news hopefully we cant get a 2 bed appartment anywhere as they are all gone as the season is starting next month so we have managed to get 2x1 bed appartments at no extra cost at the majestic which used to be the Adler which had terrrible reviews it has now been taken over renamed and is in the process of being fully refurbished finished by end of april there are pics on the ICR forum and more should be up next week so fingers crossed thats it and the holiday will be worth it:D0

Hi all!
A hugs to everyone who needs them, tiredmum - that's carpy innit?!
I am so excited and giddy I am sure it is bordering annoying! My Kenwood Chef has just arrived that I bought from ebay but causing some frustration, have posted seperately about that. Waiting for a Tesco delivery that should be here any minute and then the plumber is supposed to be coming over to fix my toilet and boiler.
I've cleaned the kitchen and dining room and was just about to start on lounge and then bathroom, but of course now my Kenwood has arrived I couldn't possibly focus on anything else!
Edited to add: Tiredmum you posted while I did - hopefully everything will work itself out now (fingers crossed!)0 -
Glad you've had some good news tiredmum.
Just got off the phone to my BIL - my sister is in Australia atm was due to fly home last Saturday which was cancelled till this Thursday, only now that one's been cancelled and they've not offered her another flight till the 17th of MAY!!!!!!:mad::eek::mad::eek::mad:
She's so upset she's missing her husband and the kids and just wants to come home now. I cannot understand how she's now gone to the bottom of the priority list because she's had two flights cancelled...? Surely that makes her higher priority??? Anyway, BA are being particularly unhelpful about that whole thing and we can't get through to them at the best of times. All discounts on any flights have been cancelled for the next 2 months so people having to book alternatives are being quoted in excess of £2k for a flight that would normally cost £800 - a friend who has contacts at BA looked at getting them home via LA instead of Bangkok and an alternative ticket that way was going to £7k!!!!!!
Does anyone know where I can find some more info on all of this? The carrier websites don't mention anything about the volcano at all - it's like it hasn't happened! No updates anywhere...
Would really appreciate any info that anyone can find xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
