Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 21st April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning

On this day in history: Thousands of Chinese crowd into Beijing's Tiananmen Square cheering students demanding greater political freedom

So how is everyone today? Another fine dry day in store. Frosty here this morning too. Certainly glad I did not plant out stuff. I am even concerned for greenhouse stuff.

Work today and then I hope to get home and work on the boat some more. Too many jobs to do..
Not much to report. OH is happy as the travel situation has given her supply teaching work in abundance..... I still have work colleagues stuck in Cuba and Portugal, so we are busy enough.....

Well have a nice day

Morning N9eav - I know you have only posted the sticky so far but I have been waiting for someone to start the thread so going to post while you are writing yours.

I haven't read yesterdays thread and have been up all night not being too well.

So with apologies for such a selfish post (which is why I didn't want to start the thread today) but I just wanted to say hi to everyone and to say PenPin I hope you are feeling better and hugs for LadyGrim.

love to all and have a good day

    Morning All

Diva sorry to hear you're not well, please rest and get well soon x

N9eav hope it stays dry for you to work on the boat.

Not much OS here today as I have a few jobs to do and then a splurge at the local shopping centre is in order - DS-D is going on a trip at the weekend and needs a whole manner of things to take with her, also need a presents for DH's DS as she turns 21 this weekend.

Got DD a watering can yesterday in £land so I have to plant the rest of the seeds to give her something to water - planning on getting that done tomorrow as I want to pick up one of those mini plastic greenhouse/shelf things that I seen in £stretcher a couple of weeks ago to go in the window alcone at the top of the stairs that gets lots of light.

House is the usual shambles, I'll straighten up today but the bulk of it will have to wait til tomorrow :D

    Have a good day x

Morning N9eav, Diva & all to follow.
Remember watching it on the news N9eav, makes you feel old!

Lovely sunny start today, and hear that all the airports are now open - been watching lots of relieved holiday makers on the the news.

Yesterday was a wash out, despite confirmnng with the ticket company that it was all going ahead, arrived at the Empire Cinema to find out that the event had been cancelled but we could still watch the film - at the price I paid for the tickets - I don't think so! So today will be returning my tickets by special delivery and awaiting a refund. Don't think I will get much luck with the travelling costs though. We still had a nice evening in the West End though and were a lot better off than people who had travelled a lot further.

Right today will be in the office trying to clear the backlog. Think my Dad will be popping over later so will try and get as much done this morning as possible.

Leftover chicken turned into curry for tea.

Didn't catch up on the thread so hope everyone is ok (((hugs))) wherever needed especially Ladygrim.x

Good morning everyone, first time posting on this thread, hope you don't mind me joining in :)

It's a beautiful sunny, blue-skied morning here. I was up at 5.30 making tuna pasta for hubby's packed lunch and my dinner. Will make a batch of scones later.

We had some huge conifer trees chopped down at the weekend, they were taken away yesterday, and now I'm left with a back garden littered with twigs, branches and debris everywhere, so I guess I'd better get sweeping at some point _pale_

    Have a good day all!

    Morning al!

Anniestar – I LOVE the Donkey Sanctuary! When I was a kid my parents took me on holiday to Devon and we always went to visit the donkeys.
SunnyDay and all the others who wished me a happy birthday – I shall get my birthday added to the list so I shall be guaranteed some birthday wishes next year. I shall also stop being so miserable and grumpy!
HariboJunkie – our Puppy-Dog is the exact opposite – he sees so much of me that when his Dad gets home from work he can’t get enough of him!
Diva – hope you are taking good care of yourself and you will be fighting fit in no time.

Went out for a curry with my friend last night and had a good catch-up. I wasn’t back particularly late but for some reason I’m pretty tired now! Managed to squeeze in time to make a sultana loaf cake to take to Dad and Not Quite Step-Mum. Dad had an operation on Monday and is feeling a little sorry for himself! All went well and it was relatively minor (polyp removal), so he should be back on his feet pretty quickly. Also had to give Puppy-Dog a bath last night as he came home caked in mud. He’d been playing in the very stagnant water / mud pit and didn’t exactly smell of roses! I blame his labradoodle girlfriend – I think she leads him astray…:D

OS for today… Pasta Bake for dinner (prepared before taking rabbit to the vet and heated through and eaten afterwards!). Need to write a few letters to family. Really should pack some more boxes but I’ve lost interest in this whole moving lark!

    Hugs to all,
    Gxx
