Bank refunded £202 which was taken without permission, then took it back!

They didn't though, to my knowledge. They said there was nothing they could do and it was to be left at that. I was annoyed that the company could hold my details for so long, but left it at that. Anyway, I will now be leaving Clydesdale Bank for their lack of communication on the matter and, to be honest, complete lack of interest
You will have got the same behaviour from any bank.0 -
Why aren't you the smarty pants! No, what I don't like is the bank refunding it then taking it back and charging me for being overdrawn. Can you read???0

But you owed the company money...... you knew it was going to be taken at some point surely? Why did you not have money to cover it?0 -
I probably would have got similar treatment from other banks. What I would hope for though is a bit of communication when they refunded and then un-refunded the money. And no charge for their mistake, which is what it was0

I don't have extra money lying about. I'm manically depressed and in receipt of £220 per fortnight - the generous amount of money the government thinks I'll be able to get by on and enable myself to get better.0

If you didn't give the company your authorisation to take that amount, they shouldn't have took it.
I'm assuming you dealt with them 5 months ago using your card in some way, and because you haven't paid them, they are now trying to take £202 from you?
What company is it? Do they not have a telephone number you can contact them on?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I thought they company can take the money from 6 months after the transaction before needing the card details again.0 -

Not without authorisation from the card holder, as far as I'm aware.
That's like me falling behind with payments to a company, and them deciding to just take the whole lot owing to them from my account because they still have my card details.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Thank you shellsuit. Yes, I dealt with them with my card 5 months previously. I was supposed to have payment scheme with them before, but since becoming ill was having difficulty making sure I had the money in time every month. They've taken the money now and will not give me it back. Like I say, my issue isn't really with them - just wish they'd gone about it slightly differently. Issue is with the bank0

Have you spoken to your bank and asked them why they have taken this money from you when you didn't authorise the transaction?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
