I have bought a DVD/Hard Drive recorder from a large retailer.
After I got the thing home and set it up I realised just how poor the features were, that I could get on a 20 quid digibox!
I have been back to the retailer, who refused to give me my money back, and told me that I'd have agree any return by manufacturer.
needless to say I felt ripped off. I have contacted the manufacturer, who ignore my requests to return it and give me suggestions on how to set the thing up, but the feature I'd expect just isn't there
(automatically adjusting the aspect ratio, I have to override it with the tv remote every time I press play on the recorder)
can anyone tell me how do I esculate this?
many thanks for any advise

If there is nothing wrong with it, then the retailer, (you have no contract with the manufacturer), does not need to refund you.
However if it is faulty, then the SoGA will, (in such a short period of time), allow a refund.
p.s. This type of query is better on the Consumer Rights board.;)
