Blocking text messages

All phones are SMS enabled. You could try inserting an incorrect message centre number on the messaging settings.
It would be impossible for any network to block messages from a certain network.
Why would you want to block messages just from O2 ?0 -
Changing the messenge centre number wont affect incoming SMS, you cant block incoming SMS0

funny that, I have an option on my phone to block certain numbers if I choose. This is in the text message settings page:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0

Some handsets can block SMS, maninly Samsung handsets, but you can't block incoming SMS at a network level0

I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Guess I'd better start scouring eBay for a vintage phone and hope it works with the current generation of sim cards.0

I do wonder WHY you want to block them though?:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0

It seems odd to me that no phone manufacturer (as far as I know) has seen fit to include filtering of text messages by number/content etc. I'm talking about the same sort of thing as "Rules" in E-mail, so for example if a message came through from a specific number, or with a certain word/phrase in it, you could automatically move it to the deleted messages without ever having seen it.
Anyone else agree that its strange that this hasn't been implemented?0 -

Something like this perhaps?

or this one

Those are both Android apps but I'd be amazed if there aren't similar apps for the iPhone and probably other smart phones.
So instead of buying an ancient phone on ebay the OP needs to upgrade to a smartphone and they'll be able to do exactly what they want. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
