The Great 'Get Paid To Generate Energy' Hunt

It's been one of those perfect days for PV generation. Not a cloud in the sky all day. 20th October: generated 15kWh. Maximum output 2.34kW (constant for about 2 hours). It's the most output on one day since 7th July. Just shows what a poor summer we've had. My system is rated at 2.96kWp.

That's interesting - though you win! 14kWh for me today on a 3.96kWp system (but I'm further north).
We must have been luckier with the weather here earlier in the year, though, because the maximum was around 20kWp in August.0 -

Had the same here - much higher output than I was expecting for this time of year. Last few days have been very good - I think the high pressure helps with clear skies and the cold temps help the panels output.0 -
17kw today on my 3.96kW system in Lincolnshire near the Wash. Were some clouds floating about around lunchtime so perhaps could've in fact done better. I was seeing 3200w to 3300w being produced by the inverter around 2pm.
Only downside for me is I'm still waiting for MCS paperwork to submit with my FIT's application so not actually earning yet just enjoying the free leccy.0 -
We have decided to definitely go ahead with our ground source heat pump instillation. ATM I am pricing up drilling for a vertical pipe and the prices vary by about £3000, just for the drilling and grouting. Anyone have any experience of drilling for GSHP in the North of England? I would welcome any feedback.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi Poohbear,
Where are you and what sort of ground are you built on?
Why do you need to drill rather than trench?
Any chance of getting together with neighbours?

Someone will correct me if I am wrong no doubt, but I think you will still get the FiT for what you have produced, as your meter will have read 0 when installed, and you will be asked to give them the reading in 3 months time - that will include what has been produced.
I don't know what our system has produced for the last few weeks, as we are still out of the country, but I'm hoping for a pleasant surprise when we get back next week.0 -
Bear in mind that £2000 to £ 3000 invested in a long term bank account will produce £80 to £120 per year.
And you will still have your £2000 to £3000. You won't have it if you spend it on solar thermal0 -

That's essentially correct. The only slight problem could be that when you do submit the application, with the MCS certificate, the company will ask for a current reading, as well as the date of installation.
If you provide an accurate reading of the meter at that point, you'll miss out on the amount generated before that date.0
