HSINhouseWindow02HL.gifHi there! This is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 20th April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning lovely OS-ers!
bdaysurprise.gifLamewolf! Have a super day hon
welcome2.gifPositivelypurple, (great name!!) and Susank - you will love it here.
Honey - Hope you feel better today.
LadyGrim - still thinking of you hon.
Stroppyjock and Honey - can't believe you have snow up there when everyone is in shorts and tshirts down here!
Penpin - thinking of you and sending lots of healing vibes your way
Essexgirl - Well done on the win.
jc - woohoo1.gif That is great news! I am so pleased commen sense prevailed in the end. You must all be so relieved.
Butterfly - Yes he does a bit actually.
Beemuzed - Big hugs hon. I think your husband has the right idea. We all deserve to spoil ourselves sometimes.
jayward - Hope the procedure goes well today.
Mioliere - wow you guys have been busy!
flutterby - We were really pleased Glee is back too!
Wasn't planning on being up at this time but was dozing (not good at sleeping sitting up which I have to right now) and woke an hour ago feeling icky and sure enough was rather sick. Anyway once that stopped I needed something to distract me and yesterdays thread seemed like a good idea!
So frustrated I cannot get out into the garden yet. It's been such amazing weather - 14 straight days of sunshine here and I have only seen it out of windows! I lost a batch of seedlings while I was in hospital as my poor OH had enough on his mind to remember to water them and who knew the entire week would be so hot and sunny! Anyway, I have managed to salvage about a dozen tomato and peppers and the dwarf green beans especially are shooting up.
I hope everyones day goes well. With love, light and warm gentle HShuggies.gif to anyone who wants one.

Morning Diva & all who cross/follow

i wasn`t planning on being up at this time either but i woke up and couldn`t nod off again so thought that i may as well make myself useful. Not too good as i`m on the later shift today but never mind.

I have pasta in the pan, sausages underneath the grill and chicken portions in the remoska so should be quite a productive morning.

DH will be having sausage and pasta with red pesto for tea later, think mine will be sausages and eggs or chicken - not made up my mind yet.

Far too early for the hoover so think i shall make a start with the dusting.:D

 Just had to run and get the battery out of the smoke alarm :rotfl:
I always set it off with sausages under the grill as they release the fat. Hope DH is still asleep lol.

WM has almost finished so i shall be hanging the clothes outside today as already it looks as if it will be a nice day.

Lamewolf - Have a lovely Birthday :bdaycake:

Jayward - Hope that everything goes well for you today!

Right i`m off upstairs with the duster.

    Have a good day peeps.

Good Morning Diva, Sunnyday and all to follow

    :j:beer:Many Happy Returns Lamewolf - have a great day:beer::j

Looks like another dry day here :Tnot good for the volcanic ash though. DD has a history trip on Thursday and we will find out today if it is going ahead as the school have so many teachers stranded abroad.

Have absolutely loads to do again today but not lots of time. DD is having an early birthday present, we are going to the premiere of The Last Song. Unfortunately the main stars won't be there due to the flight ban but she still wants to go. Will be interesting to see how many 'Z' list celebs turn up :o Really could do without going but at least I will have a happy teenager - for a short while anyway :rotfl:

So OH cooking tonight - they will probably have eggs on toast. We will grab something in London, it will have to be cheap though.

Off now to check the banks :eek:and have a quick surf.

    Have a good one.x

    Morning all,

Another bright beautiful day here, must be some kind of a record, although i have noticed that its very cold at night, and tonight is going to be even colder with a chance of frost, so dont put any seeds out just yet

Not sure whats for dinner tonight will go and check my list in a while, we have the vets at 5.20, so it will be something quick when we get back.

Yesterday I made a mushroom and onion quiche for tomorrow night, and a banana and chocolate loaf, which I then covered in chocolate :o, it was delias recipe, and looks delish. I also gave the house a good tidy, so just the basics to do today. Not even sure I have any washing, will go and route around in a while.

Think I might mow the lawn today, it seems to need doing every week at the moment, other than that I am pretty free :D, although I bet I keep myself busy.

:bdaycake:Happy Bithday to lamewolf, from little dog and I :T

Jayward, good luck for today x

    Have good days all x

MSD Hope you feel a little better today

Slept a lot better last night - feels so much better not to have that business hung over us! :D

Few MSing jobs to do today two of them will provide lunch - not exactly OS but definitely money saving as I get the cash back for the food.

I feel the need for a list - I haven't got a great deal done around the house while i've been ill but i'd like to get the place in some sort of order before I go back to work! I feel a major decluttering of drawers coming on :D

Also need to make a hair appointment and I only have a very loose meal plan on the go and need to do a shopping list for a big shop this week as I need to stock up on everything.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Good Morning everyone - its a lovely bright and sunny day down here AGAIN! WOW more than two days of gorgeous sunshine - how nice. OH in bed with migrane - not nice for him. Started planning my 6yr olds Ben 10 party yesterday - found some great places on the net which have helped me do it cheaply (I think!). So although I went shopping (after having meal planned) and got the bits I needed, I also picked up loads of OOPS and reduced items which I'm storing until the party in the middle of May.

Planning to go up and see MIL at the weekend - but will take with me some things out of our freezer so that we're not buying as we need it - it all costs so much.

MSD - so sorry to hear you've been ill - I always read your postings as I find them very useful and cheerful. Fingers crossed that you'll be out in the sunshine very soon. Love and hugs to all who need them. xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning All :hello:,

MSD - hope the ickiness goes away soon
JC - GREAT NEWS!!!!!! :j Just such a shame it had to get this far
LameWolf - happy birthday hun have a great day
Ladygrim - you and your family are in my thoughts xx

Nice and sunny here again today but kind of chilly.

Got sent home from work at about midday yesterday as was losing feeling in my fingertips but typically, every time I got up and moved away from my desk, the feeling came back and I felt almost fine! Have woken up this morning having slept funny AGAIN so while the trapped nerve is a bit better, the other side of my neck is sore now!!!

OS limited again today because of dropping stuff with alarming regularity - DH will have to do tea tonight so egg and chips I reckon ;)

Have a lovely day, hugs to all xx

    morning all!

    2 days off for me!:j

    Diva - hope you're soon better x

    PP - (((hugs)))

    Ladygrim (((hugs)))

Jayward - good luck today x

    Happy Birthday Lamewolf:beer:

welcome to any new posters I may have missed over the last few days.

    Plans for today are

Painting - do a coat on the spare room walls

Lawn mowing - do this later when it dries up

    housework - all done:j

washing - just about ready to hang out

ironing - first job to do

visit Mums 91 year old friend - she's blind and housebound and Mum goes everyday. Mum's in Blackpool with the British Legion for the rest of this week so I'm going instead.

Thats about it for today. I was given a whole tray of eggs yesterday that had just gone out of date so will use them up over the next few days. DS had scrambled eggs, I treated the dogs to an egg each for breakfast, DH is having frittata for tea and I think I'll have egg and chips so that accounts for a few of them:)

hope everyone has a good day x
