MOT Advisories - Please advise

I had an MOT and service by a main agent in 2008 and got four advisories, took it in to a recommended small independent for MOT and service in 2009 it passed with no advisories and I had done absolutely nothing to the car apart from routine checks since the previous MOT, guess which garage now gets my custom and they are a lot cheaper than the main agent.:)0

The brake line would be the one thing I would get repaired as a matter of urgency!
whilst it may be tight usually you find the wall thickness of the pipe is approx 1mm and as such rust taking away just .1mm will take away 10%
My car had the same issue, I already had the brake line so bought two new fittings to make up the line and made up the replacement. when I was undoing one of the fittings the pipe broke in my hand where the corrosion was! It had passed an mot with an advisory about the corrosion 7 days earlier.
I always recomend you change the brake fluid on your car when you buy it, as realistically it only has a 2 year shelf life as it absorbs water - and as you will need to bleed the brakes when replacing the fluid, you may as well replace the brake line.
I would expect to pay 1-2 hours labour if going to a garage + parts (Parts really shouldnt be more than £10 for the brake pipe even at garage prices and £20 brake fluid), however despite it having a 'full' Mot get it put right!
The bushes I wouldnt worry about, they are just saying they look worn - but there is no play (A bush is there to prevent play)£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Apology accepted.
The thing is Gaz the car is 10 years old and will have to accept it won't be perfect.
But to be fair it sounds a reasonable car and next year just don't be surprised if it fails on bushes. Don't spend vast sums on it but a regular oil change should keep it in good order whils regular visual inspections for more serious issues.
Good luck.0
