Switching Broadband when don't have a BT Line

With Talk Talk and since they upgraded my exchange connection speeds have been halved or less and keeping losing connection. Tried to get it resolved but sick of answering the same questions over and over again and still no further forward over a month later.
So looking to change but seem to need a BT line for loads of the suppliers I have tried. Any ideas?

PS Don't want to try Virgin as seem expensive unless take TV and don't want that as got Sky and happy with it. Tried Sky and they won't unless we have a BT line.

Unfortunately the only fixed-line broadband providers who don't need a BT line are Virgin on a cable service.
All other LLU providers will need the line to go back to BT first.
You may be able to get back to BT a cheaper cost than the £125 BT charge, either through Post Office (£110) or Plusnet (i think it was around £75 but I can't find it on their website) - but with Plusnet you will have to take their broadband (although this isn't bad).
Post Office offer no contract phone line, Plusnet or BT will be a 12 month minimum. You don't have to take Post Office or BT broadband though if you get a phone line through them.0 -
So am guessing would be aswell just going back to BT for phone and broadband for 12 months then look again. Why isn't this pointed out when you switch?

Why not just get a Sky line ?0

BT "return to donor" costs about £35
You only need to apply for a new line and pay the £125 if the line has been dead for over 2 weeks
If you've got anyone doing a 'Full' LLU product (phone and BB) thy may be able to change you over using a MAC without going back to BT. There's a few ISPs offering this now.

As for the TT problems if you're sure that it's a line fault and not your equipment be polite but forceful, argue your case and insist they send out an engineer (should take 3 days from booking).0 -

IDNET charge around £38 for taking over active LLU line, 1 month rolling contract voice only.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

I'd be the last to discourage you from leaving TT, but nothing you have said seems to indicate the the problem is specifically down to TT's LLU line. It could be your wireless set up, internal wiring, filters, router, or a local line fault. Switching your ISP will not change any of these factors.
Have you run all the standard tests to eliminate these possible fault areas? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I have followed all TT's tests and also done some of my own including running wireless router from main socket, (usually connect to compyter via Ethernet cable from an extension socket) using different ethernet cable, using different cable to connect to phoneline, swapping filters etc. Only thing haven't been able to change is router itself. It seems strange that fault only manifested after TT had upgraded exchange.
Grateful for any other ideas!

Have you tested from the BT test socket, which is behind the split faceplate on the BT master socket? This is essential to try, as it isolates all your internal wiring.
Do you have noise/crackling on the phone line?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
