I'm another big Brita fan, wouldn't be without it.I never used to like the taste of water at all till I bought one but now I drink it all the time!:jDo what you love :happyhear0

I occasionally buy Aldi bottled still water (Lidl's sparkling is really nice)
But mostly drink tap water - after all I have paid for it! I leave it (with no lid on) for the chlorine to evaporate, as it really makes a big difference to the taste. But I think sometimes, or in certain places, there is more chlorine. I know of one place where the water has to be run for ages before the chlorine smell goes from the tap. For the first few seconds, the water tastes & smells so chloriney it's disgusting. Yet it's only just round the corner from where I live, so the water must be the same. Maybe the problem is in the water pipes to make the chlorine so strong there?0 -
I've had a Brita filter too for years, ever since OH made me a cup of tea at my mum's using unfiltered water just after having had a filtered one (does that make sense?
) The difference was staggering! I went out and bought one the next day and haven't looked back.
I usually get cartridges from Boots which seem to be on a more-or-less permanent 3 for 2 offer. They're generic ones but work just fine.
I've also just invested in a refillable small bottle to take out with me as I was wasting a lot of money on plastic ones and was not happy about the cost to the environment or to my purse. Got it from the supermarket and it came with a zippable padded cover to keep it cool (I think it was made by Polar).
It has one of those annoying 'sports' tops which look as though I'm using a baby's bottle though

On another note we went to the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales last weekend, and I'm sure I saw there that the environmental impact of using filters is quite high. I suppose they mean when they're just thrown in the rubbish and then into land-fill. I don't know what's in the filters, but they're obviously made from plastic so that's bad for a start if they're thrown away.0

I have a plumbed in filter (a water ioniser) on two months free trial. The water tastes really good, however should I decide to buy it the cost is high.
The sales blurb says that it helps reduce blood pressure and is also supposed to have many other health benefits, but wonder if this is because I now drink lots more water because it tastes better?0 -
Good pointTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

I've been considering a Brita filter for a while now, and bought one in Boots today for £8.88. I presume it's going to be discontinued, and there was a few in stock This was Boots in Blackburn, but other stores may have them.0

Thinking about it I'm sure I've got a Brita filter jug tucked away in a cupboard, I'll have to look into finding it again, no reason for stopping using it except for general disorganisation.

Sorry guys but all that pops into my head is Delboy and Rodneys "Peckham Springs".
Wasn't it Coca Cola who fell foul of the bottled water market reasonably recently?0
