    Evening all.

How good am I? I left work around an hour ago. checked into the hotel and got my studies out. I turned down dinner with colleagues to eat and type. Fingers crossed I pass this time. I sent a redraft to my tutor and he said I still have lots more to do - wish I knew what :(

beanie, her mum does sound really rather controlling....it sounds scary TBH. Any chance she'd agree to talk to you and let her know what she's scared of?

Also, am back from spin...I'm not dead nor do I hurt...

beanie, sorry, as I'm not a parent I don't feel I can offer any advice but I'm sending caring thoughts.

I know it sounds old fashioned but how about a 'chaperoned' meet? It doesn't have to be too 'heavy' from your side - would her mum agree to DS/GF and you going into town for an afternoon, having a coffee and a bit of window shopping? And then taking it from there and she does the same, maybe a day out somewhere so she can see he is responsible. It might help her relax a bit and GF can show she can be trusted.

At 17, she seriously needs to let go :(

I wonder if it could be the mum is scared that if the daughter goes she will lose her little girl. Are there any other children in the home or will it be an empty nest? I know my mum said she felt very odd after the last of the 4 of us had moved out.

Hello, Beanie is she maybe worried about the exams coming up and just wants her to study a bit more? Not the way I would have gone about it myself but...

    Thanks guys.
    I so appreciate this.
Maybe her mum is worried about exams. Not sure.
I think part of it is not wanting to let go & realising that her daughter could be left school & working. There are other children too.

  • My housemates are really annoying me. I'm sat in the living room and they've got the telly on full volume. I was watching TV on my laptop but I've stopped now. When I asked them to turn it down, they said that if I wanted to watch TV, I could do it in my room and since I've been in the living room all day, it was their turn to watch TV. I don't mind them watching it, I just want them to turn it down, it's giving me a headache!
