Oooh Gemmzie, I'm going to Leeds fest for the whole weekend if you want to meet up when you're there?

Back from writer's group, I'm going to have another go at the USB stick, my ports are always a bit dodgy so hopefully I can get it going, if not I'll have to try and decipher the hard copy, but the ink ran out half way through and it gets really hard to read.

Just cancelled my Venice accommodation, I'll get the deposit back.

An obvious question Ames but is the USB the only place you saved a copy? Is there no document on the computer itself, even to give a start point if not the final edit.

USBs are notoriously fragile, not to mention lose-able so perhaps you need to look at investing in a portable hard drive to back things up on to

Thanks Luc. I didn't save a copy anywhere else and document recovery can't find it either. I know I need a portable hard drive, now I'm not going to Italy I can probably afford it, I'll have a look tomorrow. Like I said I've got the dodgy hard copy, and the original hand written copy. Although I think it's more the port than the stick actually, I've had trouble plugging the printer into that one too. There's only three on the computer though and one of them is completely dead.

Gemmzie, you could drive from the city centre but the traffic will be horrendous. There's a dedicated bus service, it's a bit dear but it'll get you right to the gates and be a lot quicker.

Ames external hard drive's are quite cheap now. I got mine (1TB) last year for only £39 from play. I wouldn't be without it now because I know whateverI have on my pc I also have copys of on that, oh and dongles/discs... Can never have to many copys :rotfl:

Suzy, does that mean you might be flying soon?

Pap, I've been meaning to get round to getting one for ages, I've just bought one on tesco direct. It was £55, but with an extra 500 points for spending over £50, so with 4x rewards it's actually cost me about £30. I just hope it'll play nicely with my laptop, otherwise I'll have to wait till I get my new one. And if I put itunes on it it means I only need to copy things once, rather than putting them on each computer I get individually.

Just hope I can somehow get what I've lost back, I'll need a magnifying glass or something!

Anyway, I'm off to book club in a bit, hopefully there'll be some new people there, but one old member's stuck in Cyprus, and another can't make it for other reasons.
