Morning all. Triker isn't the only one with piles of gibble everywhere, such a mad busy week and no time to do anything much, still one star....
valli thankyou.I've got one climbing rose to go in by the patio (rosa mutablilis) so am looking for ideas for roses and clematis for by the patio and the shed.
Your Dad is a good one isn't he? FWIW If you're going to be sitting out in the evening I would go for white and pale flowers, they glow beautifully in the half light. I like Clematis armandii apple blossom for winter interest (flowers feb and smells fab), and what about Philadelphus Belle etoile and some white nicotiana for scent in the summer evenings? sorry spellings prob wrong. Is totally and utterly fcuked off already this morning:sad:
Pottering this morning and horsing this afternoon. Have a good day all.
eta valli have sent you a pm, you may like to read war and peace first as a nice gentle warm up!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I have one on the arbour in the left front garden. It has taken two years to get established and flower but this year it is superb if you want to see a picture on facebook Greenbee?
Good climbers for me here have been the evergreen winter honeysuckles (winters beauty and fragrantissima), and any of the alpina clematis, especially Francis Riva. I have two chocolate vines which are doing really well. I havent a lot of scope for climbers here hence the obsession with arbours.
I drool my way through the David Austin climbers but they dont grow well for me. I am trying Generous Gardener again this year for one of the new arbours.
I am just rushing through the essential cleaning with a view to spending the rest of the day outside'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

My tube site is still being a nuisance but the reulsts are now back and there isdef an infection so going to pick up AB's today to get it sorted and then hopefully the hole will heel over - fingers crossed!
