    Morning all

Rain here overnight but looks like it is stopping now so hopefully a bit of gardening later
    As it's the weekend -
If you are invited to a party (birthday/anniversary) and you decline are you expected to still send a present, bearing in mind you don't normally exchange b'day/xmas presents with them?

From your second post I wonder if your friend is feeling guilty about not going/loosing touch and feels sending a gift will ease her feelings - I wouldn't send or expect one.
    question ladies.

would any of you be offended if your mid twenties neighbour wanted to know if your 11year old daughter wanted some of her old makeup? im talking things like benfit and laura mercier etc that are to good to throw away but just wont get used.

I'm guessing you are the one donating? I don't have daughters but do 11 year old's wear make-up? That is the only way I can see offence being taken. I read yesterday how many germs are in tester pots of cosmetic but that is due to the volume of different people using them.

Money saving Diva We had taddies for a couple of years in a tank to show the boys the process - I found it fascinating but a bit distressing when the taddies ate the first to turn into a frog:eek:

    G&B have a wonderful birthday

PenPen - hope your DS's knee gets better soon. Have you seen the Potting Shed thread is up and in business again?

Triker - hugs hun. Is AF due? She makes me very overwhelmed with the mess and then once she has gone fills me with GUAG.

    Flying Plan:
    Clean bathroom
    Have shower
    2nd wash on
    dust DS2's room
dust DS3 room and clean window frame

Hopefully by then the sun will be shinning and I can garden:)

  • Thats about the advice about the make up. I know she wouldnt be allowed to wear it everyday, but i used to be allowed at that age to "play" with make up i.e. experiment with it and not leave the house with it on. Its more eyeshadows (i have over 30) and some blush rather than mascara and lipsticks. Its more than i dont want to throw money in the bin when a little girl could have some fun playing and experimenting like i used to.

It's overcast and spitting today it's warm-ish though. Just got back from shopping with a 'good' shop, rather than a 'full of carp' shop lol loads of meat and pack-up stuff etc etc. Waiting for the WM to finish then decide whether it's gonna go out or in the TD hope it's the former.

Triker I agree with Greenbee about your bedroom, the rest of the house can be falling to bits but to have a haven of tidiness and cleanliness saves the soul, if you can try and get that sorted then you will have some respite. Does your OH help you in the house at all? and def get your DD's on the case, you cannot and should not be doing it all yourself x

Jenny you've gone all pink today :D

Broo time, then decide what to do next, oh I've hoovered through this morning and done some crossword....emptied the DW and reloaded it and cleaned the kitchen.
  • Good Morning All

Weather is lovely here in sunny Lincolnshire but it does look like we had a shower in the night or early morning as I didn't get up until 10..... oops

G&B - hope you have a lovely birthday.

Well on the flying front I actually managed some tiny tiny gnats steps yesterday - can't even call them baby steps...... I have broken every thing down in to 10's and I managed probably 3/4's of the list. So I cleared 10 bits of filing, 10 shredding, 10 items from LR/Kitchen/Hall etc. This is the most I can manage at the moment but at least I felt that I was busier and pottering most of the day.

I have another list today and have added those left on the end so will get to them only if I finish today's.

Went to see Orthopeadic Consultant on Thursday - the difference was amazing - he listened - took a full history and did an comprehensive physical exam. He now wants another MRI looking horizontally as he feels that there are 2 issues going on the neurological and a trapped nerve which is causing the the high levels of pain. Anyway I am signed off for another month and have to take Gabapentin ~~(wow - yesterday I felt considerably less pain - hence being able to tackle some of my list an I slept for 9.5 hours last night) He also wants me to go swimming I have not been in years!! He also showed me the slides of my previous MRI and the report and it does say that it is ?MS or ? age related vascular - this must be why Neuro chap has sent it to QMC for a second opinion although he has discharged me?!

Hope everyone has a good day
