they use a disposable speculum in my local health centre where i had mine done.
out of curiosity, does anyone who knows more about the job know whether you can ask that whilst they are "down there" that they do whatever it is they need to do to test for STIs etc? not that i suspect i have anything for a minute, but in future, i'd like to know that OH and i are both clean before he goes bareback :whistle:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
yes, pavlovs dog, you can ask to have swabs done at the same time (while they are there as it were!). just say you would like them to send swabs for everything for your own peace of mind. they should oblige!Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....0

Hi, just wondered on timescales for smear results?
I understand since the Jade Goodey issue, they have more to deal with, so will have high demands to deal with, but hearing different timescales.
I was told by my sugery, 3-5 weeks, yet my sister who lives up the road from me heard by 4, her daughter heard by 2 weeks, so it seems it can vary. They had normal results too.
Thank you.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
