    Morning all

It's a beautiful day here again, I even caught some sun yesterday! :j

Another one up early to watch the F1.

There is a local marathon going on here today, not too big, but it's starts right by my flat and goes round the coastal path twice. My friend's boyfriend is competing (he is doing 8 marathons in 8 days!! bonkers, all for charity, finishing in the London one next weekend) so I've said I'll meet my friend once they have set off, so I think e will just sit by the sea and enjoy the sun. I would invite her to the flat but it is a tip :o so it depends on how much tidying I can do before she rings!

I've got my gym induction later this afternoon so that will take up about an hour, and then I'll pop to Mr T after to see if there are any reduced bargains. I don't get paid til Weds so am trying to eat what's here but am low on fresh stuff so may get the odd bit.

I went out last night so didn't have my fajitas so will probably make them tonight instead. breakfast will be scrambled eggs on toast, lunch, cheese on crackers.

    Have a great Sunday all

So pleased your OH s expenses got sorted out and it sounds as if his boss is a good one.:j

DD(21) goes back to uni today and DH will be with her as she drives our car there and he drives back. They insist I stay home as the journey there and back would be too much for me. Think they might be right but hate to admit it.

Might defrost some lamb mince and make a huge lasagne for tonight as that always goes down well.

If it is peaceful here I might even make up a special home made treatment for the rough dry skin on my hands and feet and pad around with gloves and socks on while it works. Could throw all caution to the winds and epilate my legs as well. I'm going to be a bonny sight but can't do it in the week and frighten the postman!;)

Hugs to everyone especially PennyPincher, Diva and JC.

  • Good morning all!!

Have been MIA for a while as everything has been mad busy both at work and at home. Thought I'd pop on and say 'Hi!' whilst I'm up watching F1.

Still no news re. the work situation and whether or not our office will be closing, but I've put the feelers out in the job market and if something comes up that I fancy and I'm lucky enough to get it, then at least I'd have my bases covered.

At home we've been busy doing a few bits of DIY - I managed to win an auction on ebay for a new cabinet to go in our bedroom (which matches our existing furniture :j), and later today DH is off to pick up some reclaimed doors for a few rooms in our house that are doorless or where they have been replaced with poor quality ones (another ebay win). We'll need to get them dipped and stripped, but it'll still work out so much cheaper than having them made specially (some of our door sizes don't come in anywhere near the standard sizes, even with taking some off the tops and bottom).

Other than that, OS has been few and far between, although I've been taking advantage of this gorgeous weather and have been washing everything in sight to be line dried :rotfl:. Have also been keeping pretty much to my meal plan which has worked out great, and the grocery budget is somewhat under control too. Spring has awoken my urge to declutter and the kid's wardrobes have been my target :rotfl:. Between us we've managed to charity shop about a dozen bags of old stuff in the last couple of weeks. The foundations of my house will most likely be breathing a sigh of relief!

Hope those who aren't feeling 100% pick up soon, big ((hugs)) to you all. And welcome to any newbies I may have missed.

    Catch you all soon

    Morning all,

Not read through yet, but just wanted to wish Hilstep a very Happy Birthday :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:Have a great day, off to read through now.

Ok all caught up now :D, another beautiful day here, I have our bedding in the wm, and will get dd to strip hers, she is off with her dad today, and I fancy a mooch around the local afternoon boot sale, I am looking for a set of shelves for the utility room, so might strike it lucky.

I am going to roast a chicken later on and have it with either mash or jackets and salad, it seems too sunny to be having a full roast.

Marie thanks for the tip re eating the ground elder, but neither OH or I fancy it :o, I did stary to dig some out yesterday, but its everywhere, so have decided to zap it with weed killer.

OH put another coat on the utility yesterday, it will need touching up tomorrow, and the woodwork doing. I put all the blinds up, and I must say I am happier, there were some in the kitchen but they were see through, and I always felt that people were looking in at night :o:rotfl:

I must say I am loving the new series of Dr Who, and indeed the new Dr :rotfl:

    Ok have fun all xx

    Morning All,

Lazy morning as the dinner party went on quite late but the food was a success :D

Think I overdid it yesterday, cooking and cleaning. My back is really stiff today, and leaping in the air when Man U scored in the last minute didn't help:rotfl:

So today will be doing as little as possible, just a quick tidy and any last bits of washing and cook a joint of beef and getting clothes ready for work:p not much really!

Welcome Honey you will love it here

    Have a good day xJ

    Welcome Newbies :hello:

No time to read yet, just off the Focus to try to find a matching paint to the carpet while DH finishes off the walls and other preparation for the plasterer tomorrow.

HI everyone and Happy birthday Hillstep.

Still not feeling too great, but I managed to do quite a bit yesterday in small snatches. I used up some cream sis-in-law brought last week by making a chocolate cake and using it for filling and topping.

DH has finished decorating the small bedroom and will put together the wardrobe and shelves (Ikea of course). We're having the window replaced so the bed might have to wait, although I know he wants to see it done so he might just put it together.

I want to finish sorting my kitchen, do the washing and sort the paperwork.

See you later, have a good day everyone.
