Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for 17th April 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning
Looks set for another sunny day....

Hopefully a relaxing one.... Motor racing on TV soon, then church and then.... not sure. OH wants to go west to see family, so we will have to wait and see.

Yesterday had a good evening at the pub. Brothers birthday and he had organised a rock and roll band to play, so some good music and couple of local ciders...

Not much else to report.... Coffee is brewed....Have a nice day...

Morning N9eav and all to follow, Diva how ya doing?

Yes looks like another lovely day here too. Going to jump in the shower in a min then head out to take DS boxing. Luckily the club is near Chelmsford so will pop in for a coffee and some retail therapy with DD.

Roast chicken with all the trimmings for dinner tonight, need to make sure DS has all his school stuff ready. DD has Monday off.

Quick surf now, have a great day all.x

    Good morning guys.

It looks like it is going to be another beautiful day today, gorgeous blue skies out there. The kids are still asleep :D and I and enjoying my coffee in peace.

The front garden is done, and looks lovely with the red bark. My BIL put the brackets up for the baskets last night so that wil be the first job today, then we will tackle the back.

The house is tidy, 1 wash to do but the ironing is still waiting for me - I fell asleep on the sofa last night and woke up at 4.30 this morning. :(

Lunch will be pizzas and tea will be roast chicken with all the trimmings.

I hope you all have a good day and gentle hugs to all who need one.

Special hugs to pen-pin too. xxxx

Well off for a shower and then get going.

    Smoky. xxx

    Morning all
We're up ready to watch the GP too, hubby hates to miss it.
I'm about to put last load of washing on the line, everything is ready for work tomorrow, roast beef for lunch today & I've promised to take a cake in to work tomorrow to cheer everyone up. I think I'll make an iced tray bake as I know I have all the ingredients needed.
Our latest financial crisis is over, hubbies boss went to the bank & drew out cash from his own account for us, he was not impressed by the wait we'd had.
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone
I have been lurking for a while but never posted:o
I love this thread and you all seem so friendly and helpful.
PLans for today involve taking OH to the airport soon for the 4th day in a row so he can hopefully fly to Shetland then offshore! I hope he does as he's been out of work since Nov so we really need him to be back:eek:
Hoping to do some baking with DD today and the dreaded ironing is getting out of hand. Also have to do the meal plan for the week as haven't been well so didn't bother ;)
Not so nice weather wise here. Raining! so no washing on the line today:(
Have a lovely day everyone whatever you're up to

    Morning all

Hester nice to hear hubbys boss is a decent one!

DH went for an interview last month and he really fancied the job - just heard they are checking his references so keeping fingers crossed.

Been awake off an on during the night - worried about tomorrow so need to keep busy today.

First load of washing is in, dinner will be Leg of lamb for all of us except DH who doesn't like it - he will have sliced chicken breast. Still haven't done meal plan or shopping list but hope to get round to it today!!

This cold is still working its 'magic' on me but generally I am feeling much much better and hope to be back at work[STRIKE] and out of this mad house[/STRIKE] a week tomorrow all being well :D

Couple of MSing jobs today and then have to pick up the step-kids from their mums as she can't get them home...bet she can find transport ok when its the eldest daughters turn to come up here!

Watching Tom & Jerry with DD - sliding gently into Sunday. Brewed coffee sounds good N9eav and I remembered to get filters when I went shopping so think I'll put the pot on shortly.

    Have a good day!

Hi & welcome Honey, hope hubby gets back to work soon.
Slight change of plan here, just had a phone call from work colleague, she remembered that I was bringing cake in tomorrow & asked if I could make bread pudding, she said a group of them had been chatting about food & were all fantasising about my bread pudding, so that's what I'll do, I have lots of bread so I'll use it up. I can't believe she'd get up at 7:30 just to make sure she phoned me before I started baking.
Fingers crossed for you & hubby JC

DD has just informed me that we are doing some biscuits (hopefully twinks hobnobs) and cakes today so that'll be the snacks sorted :)

    Morning everyone.

Gorgeous blue skies again, not a cloud in the sky :D
Not sure whats on the agenda. DS wants to go swimming but I can't take him (for "womanly reasons" :rotfl:) and H says his glands are up and feels a bit naff. Whether H will force himself to go who knows, he's in the shower as we speak.
I bought a couple of cheap kites a couple of weeks ago and have been meaning to try them out for ages. Might see if H want's to pack a picnic and head off to a place called Burton Dassett, it's an old Iron/Bronze age hill fort-come-mining place (if memory serves) and it's at the top of a very big hill so good for wind :D

Tea tonight will be chicken and veggies courtesy of a free reduced chicken from my FIL. He picked it up last night (pre cooked) so I just quickly stripped it and bunged in the freezer. Now that's my sort of meal :rotfl:

    Diva - Hugs to you

Hester - wow your H's boss sounds like a good 'un. Well done him for taking it out of his own account.

jc - Hugs to you all. Be thinking of you tomorrow xx

Honey - welcome :j Hope your H is finally able to get on a plane.

Have a lovely Sunday OS or not.

Morning all, hope everone and everything is good today.

Hester, glad the money got sorted.... finally!
JC good luck, hope all goes well.
Diva, hope youre managing to read the threads and keep up to speed and be able to get back on here asap.
Honey.morning to you and welcome, I'm fairly new to this thread to and it's a source of fun and information each time I visit.

How did the meet up go yesterday, anybody know? What happens at a meet, do you have lunch and natter etc?

Three days left of work before my weekend, Sundays are a late start but have DD for lunch, tacos I think, so will have to start getting ready earlier than usual, she is back off to Uni today so will miss just having her on the doorstep :(

Okay folk coffee smell about ready so off for a slurrrp, have a lovely day and hope the sun stays out and the ash in the sky blows away so all the stranded folk can get back, must be a nightmare for them.
