  • I let Anglia First come to quote, I told them I wanted no price drop games and phone the manager scams. The Salemam said "bear with with me I have to follow the rules its my job". I knew what the job was worth, he played all the games and dropped £7000.00 and included a phone call to the manager. The product looked good so I paid a deposit, all sorts of promisses were made including "you will get a follow up call tomorrow". There was no contact made in 5 days. Then I read this forum and cancelled within the 7 day period. They responded then, by phone, I confirmed my cancellation. Then started the problem of getting back my deposit, promissed in 10 -14 days by phone, 21 days in a letter and actually never happened in over 1 month, e-mails were not responded to and promissed return phone calls were not received I had to resort to reporting them for action to be taken by my bank. I am so pleased I din't go with them, they seem to be a totally dissorganised bunch with no customer service.
  • Run away , very fast !
  • I can't believe I've just sat through 2 hours of high pressure sales garbage!
I had to throw him out of my house by picking up his case of carp and throwing it out the door !
  • Anglian first now known as First home improvements, had to throw their rep out of my home!
    Highly illegal sales techniques used!
  • Run away !
  • Hi, avoid this company. I ordered a month ago windows for £7.000 and paid £1.750 deposit. After one month and after the surveyor signed that everything was ok they came to my home asking me to pay £.2.250 (32% more) for the order because they made wrong calculations. Of course i couldn't pay 32% more than the initial offer so they cancelled the order and I am still waiting them to refund me. I don't know if the windows' quality is good bad their services are at least poor. Not recommended

Have just suffered a 3 hr visit from First, despite just asking a knocker for a 2yr “no pressure” valid quote on 5 windows in rosewood, 2 large by my standards but no more than 6’ x 3, 2 medium, say 3x3 and 1 small toilet window, 1.5’ x 3. Looked a nice product but after he’d finished his sums came up with 9-odd grand! After the usual kerfuffles, ringing manager, advertising rights, recommendations etc, came down to 4.1 if snapped up now. That’s 3 hour’s of my life I’ll never get back, had to hoik him off by (late) dinner time 8:45 and even then he wanted to come back in 30mins! A confirmatory e-mail never arrived. If quotes come in this high then how can you trust their pricing when it comes down same session to 4, can’t be sure that’s a good price now? To put it in perspective, my old mum had 10 windows and 2 doors put in last year for £10000. I rest my case.

I make no apology for the title of this post, here's why.
My parents bought new doors and windows throughout from First Anglian Direct (as they were originally known.
The quality of the hardware was good but the installation work was very second rate.
You do not expect to see daylight from the bottom of a window sill. First Anglian came back on numerous occasions to put things right.

My parents then signed up for a small conservatory for circa £10k. My father was to do the groundwork. The value of the conservatory was over inflated, no dwarf wall, just a ground to ceiling glass effort, very small.
A £500 deposit was paid before commencement of work.

My parents then found out that they had been scammed and ALL of their savings had gone.
I'm not going into the ins and outs of this, only to say that Action Fraud / the police / banks were useless and uncaring in this instance.

My father contacted First Anglian and told them to hold off the conservatory project.
Instead First Anglian are taking my parents to court for "breach of contract" and are looking for over £8k. Remember that my parents have paid a £500 deposit and no work has been carried out.
My parents have the distress of losing their savings and now this. My father is now 80.

There has been no contact by First Anglian asking about the problem. They know what the situation is, I spoke at length with their solicitor earlier this year and thought the case was dropped.
A letter outling court action came through yesterday.
They have been binary in their thinking here.... has the contact been signed? YES, are they in breach of contract? YES..... answer = court case.

These are rich, arrogant people trying to get richer off the back of my parents misery.
I look forward to getting the court date through First Anglian.
You want to be famous? I'll make you famous.

Quick update, go through their contract with a fine toothcomb. Don't be pressured into signing, this contact is legally binding.
Morals don't come into things if it goes to court.
We settled out of court after seeking legal advice.

These are the biggest bunch of !!!!!! I've ever come accross in my 54 years.
No compasion, no morals, just greed.

I hope they all rot in hell for the hell they've put my parents through.

We had 10 windows replaced 18 months ago, varying sizes and opening options (1 huge lounge window and 2 that opened fully without the joining bar in the middle) and we paid £3,650 for a local company, they are based in Hertfordshire. Took them 3 days to do them all (it was a single fitter working each day)
