What interests me a6windows, is that you quickly defend robatwork, when he was the one who left a dismissive comment about my post, for no reason other than to insult, that had nothing what so ever to do with the subject of the thread. I have reacted to this insult as all i was originally doing was trying to provide some real feedback for the company on which no one else seemed to have, of which the thread is based. But you jump to his defence, which i can only assume is because he, like yourself, has posted a lot. A loyalty of MSE brethren based on nothing but that. But you see what needs to be understood is that from a moral standpoint, the few posts that i will leave, comparative to his many, of which mine will always be on subject with the aim of providing assistance, except in the case of defence as this is, but will never be a pointless insult or facetious comment, will out weigh his many, even if he does have a bunch of thank you's. Im a correct person and will remain to be, he couldn't claim that title if he wanted to now and you defending him just puts you in the same position. I truly hope everyone on this website, who is supposed to be here to advise and help, doesn't share this same twisted sense of loyalty.

Sarcasm now? Look, i have contributed, I actually have an answer to the original question, and i have given it but for that i have been subjected to this, insults and sarcasm. Ridiculous, i think you 'experienced' members have somehow missed the point to the forum, but maybe the point for y'all is just to !!!!!, bring some excitement into your otherwise mundane lives, obviously i don't know if thats a true statement, but i would assume it is. I guess im the fool really for keep responding to your taunts, so imma stop now. For the record though i never claimed to be a huge contributor to the forum but my INPUT has contributed to this thread.
  • First Time on this Forum, I came on to see if I could reclaim Anlgian mis-sold PPI. But I feel obliged to put in my actual good experience with Anglian Home Improvements. I bought windows from them in 2003, 2004 and 2005. This was based on recommendation from a friend, and on bad experience from a local company. I can honestly say I was really really pleased with the price, the fitting and the quality. Yes the salesman stays for 3 hours and doesn't take no for an answer, and forces you to take PPI Insurance to get a big discount. But you need to get prices first from other companys. I was really pleased with the price. The sales man suggested I cancel the loan and insurance after 12 months, which I did on all three occasions (and recieved refund of the unused PPI). I was very pleased with the fitting on all three occasions. As regards the after sales service, I am surprised at the other comments. I was expecting no after sales service, but the two occasions I had to use them, was once when they called out of the blue 1 year after installation to make sure everything was ok, I mentioned the patio door was sticking a little, they sent someone round who adjusted it. Another was that I accidentally caught the brass door bar at the bottom of the front door, resulting in me bending it out. I phoned them to see if I could buy another one, they sent a guy round. He said the design had changed, and they no longer had that style/fitting type, but he would try to find an old one in one of their depots. He had to go to two depots and search around for one matching. He eventually found one, and came and fitted it - all for free.
I would not hesitate to use them again based on my experience.

    for the OP
I have triple glazed windows and the quote for 8 was 3.5k

    Hi,

I no this thread is old but was wondering who you went with?

we have just been quoted £6.5k for 8 windows a door...
  • My neighbour has an advertising board outside her home and recommended this company to me. A salesman came to quote me on replacement windows. My neighbour said they had a 2 hour+ sales pitch and to be prepared. So when the salesman started telling me how my neighbour got her discount blah blah blah, I politely stopped him, said I was really only interested in the price of my quote, hoping it would be his best price as I would be comparing it with 3 other quotes, looking at company, product and price. I said I would not be signing up for anything that night. At this point he said he would have to call his office for a private conversation, got up, then changed his mind and said his company was not interested in competitive quotes and he would be leaving –which he did with a very wet limp handshake! I've never come across this before, but it doesn't give you any faith in the company does it?

They have been trained to bore you into submission, asking them to cut to the chase is probably too much and he decided to do a runner.

  • Hi guys
We placed an order for £65k of work from Anglian. 17 months in against a 6 month original timeline and we are still sitting with a building site in the middle of our lounge. All work to-date shoddy standard. Customer Service non-existent. They never call back and simply do not care. We are not in legal battle spend £10k on litigation to release from contract. The worst financial decision we have ever made. They have caused so much heartache and stress it is not funny. How can they get away with this? Please please, I beg you, do not use them.
