Hi. I have the bank A/C with Norwich and Peterborough, the car is with First Response. I got AD in Sept 2008 :j

First Response are a good company IMO. They seem to understand that past problems are just that and give you a chance. :j

Mind you it may come off your files after 6 years but every credit card provider who checks your file even 10 years later will know you have been bankrupt, friend of mine went bankrupt 1n 1999 still no mainstream card will touch him..

Not sure that's right. After 6 years there's no further record of the BR on your credit file as I understand it.

Bankruptcy does only stay on your credit file for 6 years, but say if i was bankrupt and 6 years have gone i then apply for say any mainstream credit card, and it states on the application have you ever been bankrupt, and say yes right that will mean decline straight away, even if you have never been bankrupt and apply for a credit card and you say no on the application form they still check there internal system which will state if you or have not ever been bankrupt..not 100% sure but my friend went bankrupt 1999 ,and his credit is excellent on his experian report but still cant get a mainstream credit card..so goes to suggest the banks have alot more inside knowledge then we think..

I was bankrupt and now have a perfect credit history, as far as the lender is concerned becuase the bankruptcy is not on your file, you were never bankrupt.

    No. It's not necessary.
