I use a USB cable and the File Manager bit of PC Studio to transfer music / pics etc. to my D500.

It took me a while to work out how to upload stuff to the phone and was very frustrating!

I think the problem is that the files need to be under a certain size before you can upload them via the cable (it doesn't seem to matter if you're using bluetooth). I couldn't upload anything until I re-encoded it at a lower bit rate (96 or 128 kbit/s) and then it all transferred fine.

Also as mentioned before it'll only let you put MP3s into the Music folder.

I hope this helps and isn't too techie!
  • Thanks for that Scott F and again to all who responded, yes the software could be a bit more user friendly, in my opinion.
The problem turned out to be a faulty usb data transfer cable which has now been replaced by it's supplier.
After a dodgy start with Samsung's product support I have to give them full marks for actually 'phoning me, as they promised, to sort out the problem after eventually 'phoning them and no resolution of the issue.
