If this should be in the "Techie" section then apologies and please move.
Anyone familiar with the Samsung D500 mobile 'phone?
I have a usb - handset data cable and Easy Studio v2.0 software on my pc. I can't find any reference to transferring MP3 files from pc to 'phone on the software. The 'phone's instruction manual just refers to Easy Studio 2 where I assume the details/option should be. Is there some of the software missing or am I just being dense?
I sent an e-mail to Samsung support and they sent a 5MB!!!!!! reply which my ISP has had to delete from their system at my request. My dial up can't really cope with 5MB all in one go.
Ideas/advice would be appreciated.

Well I have transferred mp3 files over on my D800 and I assume this will be very similar to the D500. My phone came with 'samsung pc studio' and it is this software that I use along with the usb cable to do all the transferring. The process itself is very simple - just like using Window's Explorer and copying the mp3s from your pc to the appropriate music folder of the phone.0

The handbook definitely states Easy Studio 2, however that doesn't mean you are incorrect Browntoa, they're not infallible.
Thanks for all replies, I'm waiting for a response from Samsung, to a second message I sent about the 5MB e-mail.
I'm thinking the software I have is possibly lacking the MP3 bit?0 -
What a wonderful reply from Samsung! "You use the file manager to transfer" "the correct folder to use depends on which service provider you are with. With Vodafone it's the ringtone folder"
That's it! No actual instructions or where to find them??
Why do CS staff always assume everybody is a computer "expert"?
thor - probably the same method as your D800, so how, please.0 -
I asked Dave Taylor for you;)

it it pretty simple to tranfer mp3's via bluetooth. i dont know how to do it via cable. anyway if you decide to use bluetooth and win xp's built in tools you just right click on the file> send via bluetooth> then let the comp find the phone> then click on the phone and it should start to send the mp3 to the phone

thor - many thanks. I'm sure it's all there with the software, just me being thick! Yes I do get the files and folders on the left and a virtual 'phone on the right of the screen when I open up Easy Studio "file manager" software and connect via the usb cable . I'll keep trying and possibly download "pc studio" from the Samsung website.
I'm also hoping for another reply from Samsung after questioning the "really useful" response of yesterday.
I also wondered what the Vodafone stuff was about - it's irrelevant anyway, I'm not on Vodafone!
Thanks again.0
