Not much to report today again, it’s the mid month lull. Food budget is scraping by more or less still and that includes a bottle of red for ds1 this week who managed to score a pay rise in his new job already - hooray! And 3x cans of ready mix cocktails each for ds2 , dd and ds2’s girlfriend as a treat for things being miserable.
All saving pots are very bare since the car battery, mot, vets bills, log cabin work etc. so far this year ☹️ On the plus side we will manage to live off the rent from the factory again this month (just!) and overpay all wages again for the second month this year. I can’t imagine this being feasible for very long if I’m honest but each month we do is a bonus.I did squeeze in a little Xmas shopping this week and bought a few nice evening bags in the accessorize sale, some 75% off 🙂 I’ll keep a couple for myself for my birthday, the rest are gifts, Managed to get over £220 worth for about £62, mostly for female family who are coming in the cruise next year.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -

I was thinking of you the other day NG, I went to boots to get my colleague a birthday present (big birthday but doesn't live with friends or family) and ended up buying myself a present of 12 socks of christmas. Thought you'd be dead pleased with it
Well done on living off the rent money, I'm very pleased for you.6 -
😆 It’s never to early for Xmas 🌲
Well done KP, fun and useful 😁
Busy weekend, the log cabin floor has been concreted and the hot tub electrics done. Dds boyfriends dad wouldn’t take any money for the electrics, so I bought him a few bottles of gin that he likes instead. Some of us went in the hot tub yesterday, this morning it was hot still but tonight it’s cooled right down, so I’m a bit worried the lid needs replacing which would be difficult (American and a very slightly off square) and very expensive, will have to see.Dinner was pie of every type, greens, carrots and roast potatoes, last night was a mix of homemade curries with shop bought nan and rice as I wanted to cut corners. Friday we had frozen pizza instead of homemade for the first time in ages, only the cheap frozen ones I used to get but wow I notice the difference now! So much easier and quicker but like cardboard compared to fresh ones. I’ll have to get cooking again as I’m not paying for nice posh m@s ones for everyone 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
Went out for a walk yesterday with best friend, also collected my new knickers from m@s , they have 30% off lingerie at the moment so I’m replacing all my knickers, life is so much easier now they are all the same and just black or nude 😁 it’s emptied out the personal spending fund though, should be topped up in a few days though, phew!I’m happy with the reopening of the county I’ve the next few months, my boys however think it’s too quick and risky, and so do all their friends apparently. Ds1 still has no date to work from the office, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he still works at home some days. It seems an awful lot of people on the city are also only going back to the office part time long term.Spent a bit in b@@ts yesterday on various healthcare bits dealing with the fallout of lockdown, herbal sleeping tablets, stuff for mouth ulcers, gavisc@n not all for me this time 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Strange I thought I posted yesterday, oh well not much to report anyway 😆
Payday today and I’ve moved the whole lot to the offset, we have managed somehow to not need to use any of it. All pots are a little depleted after a few extra expenses this year and as for the grocery budget I’ve already lost track -oops! I may well go through cc entries to update in the future but it was getting a it awkward to track with different dates I could use the cc from with a different calendar month date is that makes sense. I feel that covering everything is good enough even if pots sometimes merge, at the moment petrol is lower and food higher than usual.I’ve a job tomorrow cleaning a small flat with dd before a new tennant moves in, a little extra money for us both with is good, also a chance to take Geraldine out for a spin as she looks brand new since I spent the afternoon yesterday cleaning her up 😬
Personal spending pot is rather sparse, I’m waiting for the kids’ rent to come in, £130 will need to go to the holiday pot towards cruises, which reminds me I’ve added an extra unbudgeted for £50 in feb towards that, as if I can get it paid for a tiny bit quicker all the better!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
Been reading your diary over last few months as I lockdown treat! Just wanted to say well done. You have had a lot to deal with over the years but have stayed positive and given your family many happy memories. Keep it up, you'll be mf before you know it!4

Wow orangetoes, I’m not sure it could be considered a treat to read it 😆 thank you for the kind comments though! It’s been a busy week for a lockdown really, cleaned the flat this morning as well as the bathrooms and hallway at home (aka the welly room now 😩) and had a dip in the hot tub in the sun this afternoon 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
