Oops not sure why I’ve not checked in for days 😬 finally I’ve a bit of time today to work on a new year plan and update from last year finally. Now we have a new mortgage term of 20 years instead of 1year and 9 months there’s a lot to be overpaid to get the term back down.New Year’s Eve went well, dh paid for an Indian takeaway and the kids all got drunk and danced all night with me managing to join in until 2 am, I did suffer for it the next day mind even without drinking, clearly I’m out of practice.
Hope everyone had a good new year, back later to update!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8 -

Start bal 2020: Today’s bal: Monthly:
Home mort: £73,119.28 £68,101.51 £897.41
work mortgage £61,561.73 £0 😬 £0
Offset £0 £2715.84 £362
Total: £134,681.01 £65,385.67 £1259.41
Total paid off this year: £69,295.34
That’s over my target of £18k this year, we have had help in the form of a £12,000 gift and a £25k long term loan from my parents so I’ll be knocking that off for the purposes of updating, so a “real” figure of £39,295.34. This is depressingly now way more than we earn both through wages and rent received, so 2021 will be very different 😆

Oops I seem to have changed my October update to the figures above by posting it as a reply, still not used to the new forum! It’s also shifted all my columns over ☹️ Oh well, it’s not been a bad year financially considering, this year will be very different and we will be living on a much lower budget, like many others.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

The forum does act very differently. Regardless, your figures are incredible! You must be so pleased especially considering how difficult this year has been for you.

Not a good start to the year ☹️ Dh has been told his hand is not healing but they don’t want him back again due to COVID overload, so he has a prescription for three months to dress it himself 😱 which he can’t do and I’m not sure I can either, I think ds2’s girlfriend will be nurse,as I’m such a wuss. I can’t imagine this will help with the work situation as he’s had the threat of a six month timeframe to massively improve turnover or lose his job - perhaps a little unfair in lockdown 😡 not being able to do much is not helpful. Then today I’ve taken the cat to the vet as she’s not eating as well and she needs some teeth taken out, they have run bloods and said she has kidney failure ☹️ Its common at her age (almost19) apparently but it may be managed with diet and medication, so she staying in overnight on a drip and I will have to ring tomorrow morning to see if she has improved, if she has improved they will do the operation. I’m desperate for her to get better but also worried about her suffering, she will hate being at the vets overnight 😢MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Oh NG, that's not good news on either front. Hugs! I know the situation with DH's job is not the usual one, but surely threatening him like that isn't legal? And even if it was at one point part of the deal, with his hand and the renewed lockdown (and more to come), surely this needs to be reviewed? Didn't he do the damage to his hand at work? Was there any negligence on their part? I think you'd do well to get some legal advice one way or another.
So sorry to hear about the cat - hope she'll improve overnight, but I feel your/her pain at staying overnight (however, the vets knew when our B&W cat was feeling better because he wrecked the pen and pulled his drip out - so if she needs it, she'll accept I expect). More worries for you though.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
