I'm sat here now thinking how much fun it would be to arrange Lidl deliveries anonymously to people who are too snobbish to shop there and imagining their horror at having a Lidl van pull up outside where the whole world can see 🤣!
The garden centre get-together sounds like a nice touch, how is your Great Aunt doing now?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Haha 😆 indeed, We are the common neighbours here with the Iceland van rather than the Waitrose one already! Auntie doing ok thanks for asking 🙂
Fab day today, super early quick shop followed by coffee and toast and then a trip to the German Xmas market for waffles. A little bit of spending done today, will work it all out tomorrow but hopefully not too much damage 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Lazy day today, just giving lifts to work and booking the Harry Potter studio tour for Monday with our (dd and I) gift tickets 😊 been hanging on all year and decided we would go early Monday, it will be our only Xmas outing this year! Most schools are shut here now, friend’s sons school was opening back up for one day before they break up which seems silly, I doubt there will be many going in then. Tried to get mum to meet me for an outdoors Cost@ but she won’t ☹️ said I can go in her garden but won’t go into town, yesterday she was in the shopping centre having breakfast with my dad though which was busy 🤦🏼♀️I’ve almost emptied my personal spending budget into the holiday fund now, there’s about £23 left until January 😱 probably enough for a lollipop in the Harry Potter shop 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

Another shopping trip to Lidl today again, I got two £10 off vouchers from the paper that need to be used within a week, and we sure can get through the food right now 😱 £51.33 spent after £10 off, £2 off app voucher and about £1 in discounts in the app, it’s pretty good savings on the app.I’ve done a festive packed lunch for our Harry Potter trip tomorrow, Brie and cranberry rolls, mince pies and Xmas paper plates and napkins, I should only have to buy butter beer for dd now and our matching Ron and Harry jumpers are ready, it’s by far the most exciting thing to happen this year 😬
Almost time to think about some new year challenges and targets I suppose, the finances are usually only a small part of that, in the earlier years on mse I would have so many plans of things to achieve I feel like I’ve lost my mojo really so that needs to change.
We have downloaded to keep on sky “The Santa Claus” which is free for the next few days to sky users if anyone else has it, it’s been a good week for freebies and discounts 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Great day at the studio tour yesterday, I saw the new Gringotts set 😁 we took a festive picnic but I did buy dd some butter beer as is tradition £6.95 now 😱 plus a chocolate frog which she’s saving for Xmas.
Dhs dad has had the covid vaccine yesterday, they came to the house apparently to give it to him which I don’t understand to be honest, His mum has to go to hospital at the weekend to get it. So tonight he’s dropping the Xmas present round so he can sit in the garden briefly. Unfortunately dd had booked an afternoon tea for Wednesday for us and ds2’s girlfriend as a Xmas treat which we now can’t go to as we are tier three from midnight , She planned it months ago ☹️ She’s at work today so no moving it either.Oh well, our local area has been on the national news for being so rife with the virus, seems to be the schools which are having serious issues. I will visit mum in the garden today if she’s free and maybe go for a coffee with best friend if we can get an outside table for the last time in a while. Strange times! On a more positive note, I’ve just looked up the price of the Baltic cruise I booked a couple of weeks ago and it’s gone up by £398 already, glad I booked just incase now 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Not such a great day yesterday, poor dh had a nasty accident helping the neighbours at work unload a pallet that was stuck on a lorry and has a very deep wound on his hand/wrist. Luckily (or unluckily I guess!) he was bleeding so much at A&E he was seen straight away, he has to go back Friday as they are not sure it will heal and might need an op. He has been at work all day today still of course 😡 against my wishes clearly, but he can’t be told!Much better day today though as dd ordered an afternoon tea delivery as we missed the one she booked, so nice and a surprise so we watched a terrible Xmas film and stuffed ourselves 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

Oh NG, sorry to hear that about DH. I hope it is ok and does heal ok. Better to have the op if needed but not a great time for it.

Oh no, hope there is no mechanical damage. Hope he is not making things worse by working. Hopefully they are just being cautious as its likely to be dirty from the lorry/pallet.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20224
