£1 spent on an online homeless charity I used to donate to and haven’t in a while, felt a bit guilty just doing £1 but that’s probably a silly attitude, I’m not going to do regular amazon list purchases or donate £5/10 a time now, but odd small amounts are still worthwhile, they are very local and buy In Aldi and cook then deliver to homeless in kings cross and locally twice a week, I’ll probably do odd small amounts online as and when, feel a bit better now as we are trying to trim the budget and sometimes that’s a bit sad.
Don't forget that if you use Amazon usually, you can go to smile.amazon instead and they donate a small portion of your purchases to the charity of your choice.

Did the accountant not tell you it was due when they made up and submitted the annual accounts to Companies House? Bit remiss of them if they didnt :(  it's shown as a liability in your company accounts for the year end, from memory. Our accountant has always made a point of telling us how much it is, even though my background is corporate finance so I can read a set of accounts :)

Always worth phoning HMRC up and asking about paying it off in a slightly longer period - they are always friendly and super helpful with even the most daft questions, I've found - they much prefer people phone up and ask or check something with them than get something wrong/ ignore their letters (only people I ever found awful were child tax credits people - they literally made me cry) Plus they may even have stuff already set up for companies in this situation - especially with C0vid

    Fingers crossed... ×

Hi greent and Vix, I’m not sure the accounts have only just been done. Luckily we do have the money to pay it but it will come out of the offset which was clearing the factory mortgage.

More bad news - sorry this has to be the most depressing diary ever! my great uncle has COVID, he’s been in hospital for weeks in a room on his own, with dementia and vastly reduced lung capacity it’s not looking good. His wife has been very depressed lately, I’ve been trying to meet up with her regularly, luckily she cancelled our meet on Sunday or I would be worrying about catching it 🙄

Oh NG, that's rubbish news. Don't apologise for having a run of bad news at the moment - that's what we're here for, to support you, through good and bad. If your great uncle doesn't make it, is he at a point where you could see it as a release for him? I know when my Nan died we'd kind of come to accept that awful though it was for us, it was probably kinder for her. I know that doesn't help with his wife's situation though - and not a good time to be struggling. Has she seen a doctor about how she's feeling? How is she with technology - can you keep in touch via video call?

Please remember to take care of yourself - I know you're worrying about so much at the moment, so it's important that you make sure you eat and get sleep when you can.

Has DS (I can't remember which!) had any luck/made any progress with jobs? Is DD still doing plenty of hours at work?

That's tough. At least the mental health team are aware of her situation though. Pity she won't go for the Internet. My great aunt had broadband installed when my second cousin stayed with her briefly (her daughter (who lives overseas) pays for it), and it sat unused until a few weeks ago, when my mum (in collaboration with her cousin, the daughter) got her a second-hand Ipad - now she can use it for Facetime and I think it's really helped. We've also got my MIL on an Iphone for the first time (she had a non-smartphone phone that was 'just for emergencies' and always off) - and I think she's really appreciated being included in the family Whatsapp rather than relying on FIL to pass things on. Maybe something to think about in time though for your Aunt. Hopefully your great uncle pulls through though - it sounds like he's unlikely to let Covid get the better of him!

In Beanie's words - just keep plodding... you've got this! x
