Hi Vix, she’s not going thank goodness as it’s this morning and she can’t get flights there yet. Very sad for her but it would have been such a risk for her.Still no news re work but we have started mentioning to family as it was getting a bit stressful swerving questions about what’s happening. I’ve cancelled our trip to York in a couple of weeks as dh doesn’t want to ask for a day off to go currently, plus to be honest I don’t want to spend even on just petrol 🙄.Yesterday’s shopping was over 50% missing but paid for when collected, refund on its way but should I have a week of not much in or do another shop?, decisions decisions 😬
It’s switching day today and I think we will be just having ds1 and dd based here with possibly the other hangers on visiting as and when, it’s so complicated but I’m so pleased they have all been so good during lockdown. Ds1 has a table booked in a few weeks time in a pub but has decided not to go to his local with all his friends just yet. We are high in the list of U.K. cases rising here, probably due to my next door neighbours! Fingers crossed it’s not too crazy today....MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
I think cancelling trip to York is wise - you can always go in a couple of months when things are clearer/you’re all more employed.
That’s a poor shop, only 50% there! Could you make it a challenge or are you missing key bits? Is there stuff lurking in the cupboards that really needs eating but gets avoided? If there’s less of you that should help!

I was going to suggest a challenge too 😀 At least your neighbours should be quieter tonight, as I imagine they'll be out?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hi vix, It’s a £32 shop that’s arrived this week, less than half for five of us 😱 we have cupboard stuff though so I’m doing a challenge! Bread milk and butter came and I’m about to steal a couple of potatoes and a bulb of garlic from mum 😁 The fruit bowl is one banana and some grapes this week. Tonight's dinner is lamb and veg casserole or salad bowl with feta and couscous. It could get more random as the week goes on. The saddest part of this situation is the lack of choccie biscuits 😩
SC you are probably right 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Can you make some biscuits? Any chocolate in the house? anything will do, chop up and mix into biscuit batter at end. Ooh, I’m guessing there aren’t any offers about at the moment - sign up to hotel choc subscription via cash back and cancel type thing?Otherwise non choc biccies - ginger or coconut if you have dedicated? Or garibaldis.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I found some rich tea fingers and had with some nutell@, defiantly no chocolate in the house, I always have a accurate knowledge of what’s available 😆
Well no teenage party next door today, instead this week we have a middle aged drinking party. I’m probably over sensitive as it’s just few friends over being loud, but it’s a bit annoying, it feels like I never get any peace sometimes.I know now is not the time to be looking at houses, but I must admit I’m tempted to move away for some quiet and a smaller mortgage!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Any oats in to make twinks? Or flapjacks - always a good standby
I'd also go with using up what's in as much as poss - either gets people being creative or just eating all the random items which usually get left
A week of little fresh fruit wont hurt everyone in the long run
if the banana is looking dodgy then add it to flapjacks? Or banana and nutella cupcakes

It's a shame you and DH can't escape to the flat in York NG, it sounds like it would be just what you need xMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hi greent, the banana is a large brand spanking new one delivered yesterday - the one week I click on a single banana thinking it’s a bunch 😂 could make some hob nobs I guess, I think we have everything needed 🤔
Hi SC, yes indeed , although we would have to take my parents now as that’s what was arranged before, I’m not sure it would be such a rest then 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
