Not much happening here today, I made the aubergine curry which was ok, other than that I’ve been online looking for ideas to change job/start a business/ move area/ have a lifestyle change and to be honest even looking has both deflated me and worn me out!Still on the bright side it’s been another nsd 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

NG I am sorry to hear that things are tough. Sometimes you just need certainty even if it is bad news.I agree with SC about one thing at a time. You could have an interim plan of what you will do for the first 3 months whilst you decide on the longer term options.MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000
Oct 2022 £143,277.74
Reduction £166,722.26
OriginalEnd Sept 2034 / Current official end Apr 2032 (but I have a cunning plan...)

Hi ladygnome and sc, thanks 🙂 I think being left hanging is the problem. I have made a plan until October which is to live on a lot less basically! Not a great day today (this is turning into the most depressing diary ever!) the cat has something wrong with her tail, not sure if it’s been shut in a door but she’s booked into the vet tomorrow 🤦🏼♀️MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6

Could OH work for himself again in a much smaller capacity? If the owners close of course. I often think of what I would like to do and never really come up with anything. My current lottery win job would be something for the homeless i think. When my OH threw in the towel a supermarket job was all he wanted. No stress, but he was in his mid 50s by then. Would either you or DH train for something? I wished OH would have chosen something with a bit more earning potential, but his MH was at risk with stress and loss.
I hope your day gets better and the cat is ok.

Well I’m not sure that’s a possibility mfd’s, depends on the contracts we signed on handing them business over. I think dh is at the stage when he wants no stress too now, we will just have to hang on and wait and see.Dd starts her first shift today at the new job, ferrying her around may be my new part time job as it’s three buses away and for the moment I may as well drive her to keep her a bit safer. She’s not actually sure she will get paid as this week is a trial week, I really hope so but companies seem to get away with a lot nowadays so who knows!I may meet up with best friend today, at some point we are going to Primarni in the next week or so, not a desperate need for stuff but more for a more normal feeling (plus some black tops for dds new job) need to take the cat to the vet today too. Then I’ll be trying to make Jack Monroe‘s lasagne made with lentils and greens and getting some washing done while it’s hot.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

A trial shift might not get paid but surely a whole week would?! 😳 As you say, they seem to be able to get away with anything these days! Hope it goes well.
Hope the cat is ok - in my experience they’re very good at healing their tails themselves, so hopefully it’ll be ok (and cheap!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I don’t know SC, the ones here have small bags and drive vans 😬The cat is ok, she has been bitten and has an abscess on her tail but she is repairable 🥳 and to top it off the new vet I went to was fantastic, (the usual one was shut and local one I don’t trust and charges a fortune) The bill was £62 in total for twenty minutes in there, antibiotics, painkiller and stuff to clean it with. Can’t believe how cheap it was, a consult is about £60 up the road here!
Also braved the shopping centre, well two outdoor shops, primarni and Asda home, I now have all manner of things I’ve nearly run out of or need, T-shirt’s for dds new job, hair bands, face wipes, knickers etc. 😬 Total time queuing about one minute altogether and pretty quick visits. I did wear a mask (Not that many were in primarni) and did a bit of exaggerated moving out the way and tutting 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
