The thanks button is back hooray 😀
Yesterday we should have been sailing from Malta to Italy, how strange that things are like they are! I am itching to book something for the future but now is not the time, prices are high too. I wonder how much the cost of travel will change? I think we may go for less trips but longer ones perhaps in the future. The uk is going to be so much more popular after all this, I see centrep@rcs is already a bit pricier than usual for an off peak hotel room for two which is the one I often look out for. At least I have plenty of time to waste thinking about all this 😆Food shop being collected today and the budget was started early (27th April) for May with a huge extra shop, so as it stands with today’s shop we have gone £2.66 over the £500 budget, we may need to borrow from next month this budget again if we do a shop next Friday too but we are catching up slowly!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -

Excellent point SC 😁Quite a bit of today’s shop was missing, as in paid for and not there. I can apply for a refund online but it’s more the fact it was essentials like cat litter which we have run out of! I’ve booked a second shop for Iceland Monday now to top up, so will probably spend a bit more.
Met with best friend today at a distance which was great, will hopefully do it a bit more now. Not much else to report really!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Eek to running out of cat litter!!
Interesting about prices rising, but I wonder if that’s because CP know they have a captive audience this year? The opposite seems to be expected with restaurants - I’ve heard suggestion that there’ll be good offers to tempt people back.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It’s hard to tell really, the cruise company (P@O) seem to be the same prices, if not a little dearer, but then there’s so many cancelled cruises and many people will get future cruise credit that needs to be used up, so in that respect demand I guess will be higher than you might have thought. I will be interested to see where all this goes price wise, if restaurants do need to keep social distancing in the medium term will it be worth their while opening?, it all depends on government help I guess. I would have thought it’s more work for staff delivering items to tables and therefore more staff needed, and pubs surely will have to have way fewer customers. Takeout and deliveries seem to be the way many of our local places are going.I think I’ll make a point to pick a couple of trips to keep an eye on price wise, I know with cruises they seem to be cheapest to book in advance around later summer /autumn.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6

Oops, didn’t realise I had been away for a few days! It’s not like I’ve been particularly busy either 😁
Payday today, lots of transfers and spreadsheets to look at. I’m meeting little brother at a park near where he lives if I can find it today, so I’m quite looking forward to that, plus it might get my steps over about the current ten a day 🙄
Dh bought himself a bike Sunday(Second hand) , it’s a very bright racing bike. While I was on the phone yesterday to dd he went off for his first bike ride. He came back five minutes later, we thought he had forgotten something, but he was worn out 😂
We have also decided to book a CP break for next year, I’ve been having a good look at prices and have found that the bigger units in sept are a good price at the moment at Sherwood Forest which we like. So the cheapest one bed lodge was £429 and a one up from the cheapest four bed lodge was £599. Its a few weeks after our 25th wedding anniversary so we wanted a holiday but not something very expensive as it’s dhs 50th the year after and I want to splash out then. If we book a 4 bed then we can take however many of the kids want to come, I’ve also said my parents are welcome, although they were not keen when they came before and barely went out! If all the kids come they will have to get their own place though 😆Perhaps not the most romantic break for an anniversary I suppose but we can always squeeze a cheap hotel break away too possibly.Back later with hopefully a great op update for this month 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
🤣🤣 at DH’s cycle ride! But does it have gears? We acquired a very fancy bike (don’t know if it was a racing bike), but it has no gears and DH sold it to buy a normal bike.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

oh yes, it has gears (apparently he did lots of research) however it has special tiny racing pedals so he had to go out yesterday day to buy replacements. It has yellow tyres so I’ve named it mr bean’s bike 😆 I think it might be the poor mans version of a mid life crisis Ferrari!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7
