doesn't bother me that much though, as long as their are roast potatoes and wine
lol! This is me too. Once the turkey crown had gone off when we opened it on Christmas morning so we just had 'all the trimmings' and wine. Best lunch ever!Choose kind0 -
:rotfl: I think actually thinking about it, Xmas day would be just fine with crisps, chocolate and wine!
I have not had a great weekend food and drink wise, I think the baileys may have to go down the drain as I CAN'T stop drinking it
Sometimes it does not help stocking up for Xmas, Clearly dry October has not been a success!
Strangely I've managed to lose weight every week since rejoining WW 2.5 lb then 1 lb then 0.5lb , this week I am sure I will have put on so I need to turn it around before Thursday evening, it's getting harder.
Finances sorted, I don't actually know when payday is now, it used be the 24th but the new company may have changed it. It's irrelevant really anyway as all spending is done on the cc which I can't use until the 3rd November as I've overspent  I have around £145 in cash to see me through until then. It should be ok as the new ald* has reopened and I had forgotten just how much cheaper it is :T
MONDAY PLANS:
- take mum to meet aunt for coffee
- go for a long walk
- keep on top of washing
- do a plan of action for housework/decluttering , little and often like the fly ladies on old style but to my own requirements
- stcick to WWMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'm trying to creep in quietly today
I need to confess to a lot of spending!
Today I have managed to book a last minute four night cruise for dh and I, a bit spur of the moment but he did want to do something nice after everything had settled down at work a bit. It's one we have done before and is really just an excuse to relax for a few days.
I can hardly bring myself to say how much it cost as it was last minute they only had deluxe balcony cabins left, after cashback and cabin credit just under £500 each
The money will be coming from the kitchen budget as I think I may have over estimated and I really don't want to take from the mortgage offset.
On top of this I had to put the car in for a check up as the engine light came on - they did a full service and it seems ok now , but that cost £204 .......
Oh and £35 at ald*
So a very expensive dayMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
It sounds like a very expensive day NG! Ouch! But if the break will give you both a chance to relax properly after what has been a very stressful time, then hopefully it'll be worth it. Do you think your DH will begin to relax about work and live a little more now that it's not all his responsibility?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hopefully the mini-break will recharge those batteries for you both.
No major Halloween plans here. They usually have some kind of party or event to go to but nothing this year. I'm off for a few days from Halloween next week so will make some scary snacks and now we've got Netflix we'll choose some films to watch. Might get them to create some kind of Halloween play but will see what they want to do.
Are you SAHM again now following factory sale? Hope your dh is getting on okay as it's been such a stressful time and big life change.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

So sorry for the delay in replying
Hi cath, that sounds nice and stress free to be honest, parties can be hard work! I'm not a sahm (does it count when they are grown up? :rotfl:) now working for the new guys , although they are never there so really for dh still.
Hi mfd's, we are lucky to have the offset pot, things may have been very different if not
I've been busy the last few days, I've made five advent calendars for ds2 , Dd, dds boyfriends Dd , mum and aunt - so only 120 things to wrap and number :rotfl: I've also had a big sort out of all the toot in our bedroom and given some to the guy at work to bootsale (50/50- I can't do bootsales due to my morbid fear of portaloos!) , then carefully organised the Xmas presents bought so far and written them all down in my Xmas book with the costs.
I've also done my first Ocado shop to get a 30% discount , none of it for now but all Xmas bits and bobs as they had the tartan napkins etc. I wanted for the table, so a spend of £42 and a saving of £34 ish I believe everything as I bought some condiments/nuts/pickles etc.
The fjords cruise is paid for now (from this months wages) however I've taken £2000 from the kitchen offset pot to pay for the mini cruise we go in this November and also the car costs this week, it leaves a few hundred left over to pay for spending money while away or Xmas socialising which I dread to add up, it's nice to be asked out but some of the plans are a bit  one restaurant we turned down wanted a guarantee of a minimum spend pp of £100 , cheeky!
So swings and roundabouts really at the moment, I am attempting to pay £1345 pm off the mortgage starting November, but its going to be tight. I've also over estimated out new wages by about £60pm due to pensions, plus flipping sky have charged us £19 for phone calls as I chose a pay as you go type expensive tariff rather than an inclusive one, I'm the only one that uses the home phone so I'll just stop!
Meters read today , £200 in credit. Home and car insurance renewed for a total of £330 for both :T the bare minimum cover thoughinterest overpayment on mortgage paid as balance is higher than it was at start of year so we should be paying more than they are taking.
Oh and Aldi has re opened and no matter how much I hate trolley dodgems I'm going to shop thereMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Woohoo I have found a credit balance on a cc I took out (to get free vouchers) last year of £10.40 :T not sure what I've done but I'm going to spend it today while going out with Dd/mum/aunt for coffee, perhaps I'll buy something exciting like toiletries in the pound shop
I also have some serious cashback pending at the moment, due to plently of spending of course! 2 cruises and five buy a gift packages while they also had 25% off, so I'm not sure if that will track. One of them was a beer tasting in the city of London including dinner after for £60 for two , so I bought three sets 25% discount and 12% Tcb, I thought it makes a nice Xmas present for dh, the twins, dad , little brother and dds boyfriend to have a post xmas lads day out
Also got a couple of mail deals at prezz* for £15 before cashback for three courses and wine for two, I might use one taking Dd for a Xmas London day out and one on dh. Plus a Marco Pierre white afternoon tea (£10!) and a bottomless sushi thing (£62) that dds boyfriend loves. So lots of Xmas spending but on doing things rather than buying things.
WW not great last week, after he Xmas baileys accidentally fell undone I put on half a pound. As the baileys obviously was gone in a flash (and yes it was a litre bottle  ) I've been very good since Thursday and am determined to lose weight this week , I have to put a pound in the pot if I put on, plus the shame of it!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Too cold to get out of bed this morning :snow_laug but I will be late for work soon!
Batch Cooked healthy bits for work yesterday with zero WW points to offset the pizza I'm having tonight round a friends who is cooking, plus we have a spooky Halloween Indian takeaway for my aunts birthday on Friday at home.
Spending and dieting going well at the moment , but then it's only Tuesday morning :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
