Hi greent! I'm fine thanks, just not being a very good mfw'er at the moment
It's been a very busy week, we went to york with my parents last weekend, dh and I spent the whole day shopping (much to his delight) on Saturday, so lots of walking to balance out the food and drink we had.
The new owner of the business met all the staff properly this week, there are a few issues which need ironing out, but they seem quite supportive and will hopefully help sort a couple of issues that have been a problem in the past (working hours /holidays etc.) all good so far though
Ds2 is one a two week internship with a film company, all going ok I think, he's off filming overnig a couple of days next week.
Ds1 has been doing some one off jobs for one of our factory neighbours, surveys of car parks and counting cars etc. He's done about four shifts so far , one overnight where he gets a hotel and food much to his delight and they seem to pay an absolute fortune, we have everything crossed a full time job comes along soon!
WW weigh in was not as bad as it should have been after york, 1/2 a pound off, im trying to really make an effort now though since I've bought a very small looking size 12 sparkly black Olivia newton john looking trousers for Xmas, yes they are too small and yes I am too old :rotfl::rotfl:
I've finally had some time at home today, so be been re jigging the finances. It's been one of times lately where I've been a silly mood, fed up with having to go so far back with the mortgage, wanting to spend money, looking at new cars, looking at designer handbags in the york outlet centreso far so good though and I have resisted all!
Anyway after a few hours wasted with the spreadsheet, I've come up with a more aggressive plan for oping than the previous 10 year one :T
So I'm holding back £10k from the offset, the big possible phone contact buy out has been dealt with and reduced and there is enough money left in the old company to pay it. So the £10k will pay for a new kitchen and hopefully a few more things next year.
Dh's builder friends will do it at cost and we can get massive discounts on everything we need, it will slash costs a lot and I don't want anything too fancy anyway if we are not having an extension any time soon. Hopefully we will have a surplus even and be able to smarten up something else.
So the new start balance (as of the end of this month !)
Drum roll ..............
£77,580
The mortgage ends April 2022 and if I pay £1345.07 pm I have a remaning balance of £25,095.77 left to pay at the end - enough to be covered with a low rate loan perhaps.
The bills come in at £760 pm at the moment not including car/home insurance. There will be a surplus of £835 pm after saving for Xmas.
October I'm just paying the interest and paying the balcne of the cruise for next year off, after that any breaks will come from a surplus if I've managed to underspend. This will be the biggest motivation ever as I really want lots of holidays
Other money I've set aside this month is £250 for Xmas food and drink - this is currently less than my parents spend on cheese each year! I'm going to let them get the cheese I think :rotfl:
Hope everybody is ok, sorry for the waffleMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

No party this year Cath, although we will do a small family "decorate the living room" spooky mealOn the night it's a toss up between watching the new Halloween film on the 31st or going to see a Q and A at the bfi on Shaun of the dead.
Are you planning anything?
Yes, sorry Ed, I'm thoroughly enjoying winding my parents up that we are having a value Xmas - it's their worst nightmare, doesn't bother me that much though, as long as their are roast potatoes and wine
It's an exciting day today , dh has bought a new tv :T with his birthday money mind, I'm not off the mse wagon just yet. 32 inch smart jvc one for £140, it's for the bedroom as it's quite a big room and I can't read anything in the old one as it's too far away. I don't care if it a bit common having a flat screen on your bedroom, I'm going to try and live up there as much as possible now, in peace and quiet, watching what I want, all alone :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
