They tried to tell me I hadn't submitted a meter reading until I pointed out I was on a smart meter.

Saw fifty shades last night which was as expected - a great comedy :rotfl: nice dinner at pizza express first and pretty cheap too!

I have a friend for lunch today, but other than that no plans. Missed weigh in last night and have been struggling to focus re the weight loss, best friend wants us to start exercise classes again next week as she's not been great either. I really want to hit target by summer or preferably by the end of April. After weighing myself today (scales are stuck in kilos!) I want to lose 8.5kg - it's still a lot

So today is the first day of my fresh start, I still feel torn between WW points and counting cals and often stwich between the two :o however I've now found a couple of Aldi frozen veggie meals super low in points - 1 or 2 each , which helps on days where I have not planned or am sick of my own batch cooking or salads, so WW is still is.

Sticking to a diet and a low spending month is really hard, I can do one but really struggle with both at the same time.

I'm tempted to spend money at the moment, I start well in January then gradually as they year goes on so does the resolve! As it's only February I really need to sort myself out.

Currently top of the wish list is a musical cruise with Alfie Boe, Katherine Jenkins and the National symphony orchestra plus loads more, with a guided tour of the Guggenheim. Usual full price over 2k originally but in a daily deal site currently £889 each.

I must resist, please help as dh is doing his usual of "just book it, life's too short" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Friend had a nice big baguette and salad I just had the salad and fruit after :A. I did however drink way too much last night round my parents, popped round for one and ended up staying for a Chinese takewaway and to watch the boxing. Didn't eat too much though, mum insisted on paying so I paid for the boxing -£15.

A day of ironing today, possibly a trip to the cinema to see the shape of water.

Am going to crunch some figures today and see what we should do re the work that needs doing on the house, current plan is to save after the mortgage is cleared but realistically it's going to take too long if we decide on the extension as somethings won't wait that long to be replaced, the floor in the main living area is already in a bad way, the fridge needs replacing now really etc.

We are up for re mortgage in July and that needs to be taken into account perhaps, as it stands the svr will be about 5% which I don't want to pay so I was considering a 2 year deal and then leaving £100 in the offset when clearing the mortgage to avoid early repayment charges.

Lots of research done today, also had another long chat with dh about what the plan is doing work on the house.

He agrees it all needs doing but is reluctant for us to say on a super tight budget if we borrow more and try and pay it off quick again. I think he's just thinking of the classic car he wants :rotfl:

Also had a look at the kitchen to see if we can do another makeover to tart it up a bit, it's really not worth it as some of the cupboards are actually rotten  I'd prefer an extension but don't really want to commit a few more years at this point as we may well be wanting to give Dd money if they move out in the near future.

So, the mortgage is up for renewal in July, hopefully due to be paid off April next year (with a small amount still owing so we can avoid charges) I'm thinking of instead of touching the offset pot or adding to the mortgage that we should just pay interest from now until the new deal starts in August.

We can start a two year deal again and with the same ops can still clear next year (November instead of April) it will give a budget of about £17 k ish with no need to up the mortgage outstanding amount at any time.

We could wait until mf then save, but another's year and a half seems too long :o It would be nice for it to be done for the kids birthdays and for us to hopefully do xmas (for the first time ever!)

The builders in the factory next door will do it for a lot less as will pass in their large discounts on supplies so I'm hoping it will come in well under budget and we can also squeeze in perhaps a downstairs loo in the halll and a new front door.

Have not suggested all this to dh yet, but feel it's a good compromise as we can still be mf next year.
