You have to have your house how you want it at the end of the day because it's not just a house it's your home. I think a long as you OP something for that month , say a days interest, its still better than nothing.
The bathroom sounds really nice. I hope that you will show us some photos when its done and the summerhouse too.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Well done on the bathroom Newgirly, it sounds really nice, i have an image in my head of how it will look and now i want to do ours :rotfl:
That is quite a way off yet if i look at it realistically!
I`m glad that you are giving the wine a go, i`m looking for a new apple juice to use for mine as Morries seem to have stopped selling our favourite one, i`ve tried the Aldi one but it isn`t the same and doesn`t seem as strong. Next week i shall look for a different one.
I`ve just bottled some coffee wine which is fantastic, it goes a bit mad when its first started and tastes vile but after about 3 months its like a lovely sherry type drink. Even better is that it costs less than £1.50 for 5 bottlesIn summer i usually go blackberrying and elderberry picking for wine making - all free then apart from the cost of the sugar :j

Hi sunnyday, I have ordered all my stuff from wilko's , just waiting for text to say its arrived, have not managed to find any white grape juice yet though. As for picking berries, I would be nervous picking blackberries let alone anything else! I might poision someone:D.
Today has been hard work, we have been painting tons of trellis which is the absolute worst thing in the world to paint, plus doing lots of arguing, seems to be a weekend hobby at the moment , I'm happily ignoring my dh now.;)
I've had a nice bath, a big homemade bread doorstep cheese sarnie and a glass of red, so am starting to feel better already. Lets hope tomorrow is not quite as stressful, the log cabin is being delivered finally.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi Newgirly,
Morrisons sell the white grape juice, they have stopped selling the cheaper version now but they do have another version which is around £1.20 ish for a litre. I`ve been using this. Hopefully i shall manage a trip to Sainsburys later as they seem to have an apple juice which looks promising. Elderberry wine is absolutely gorgeous, i would have a look and see if there are any trees close by as you can pick some and then freeze until you have enough for a batch. They are easy to spot and can`t really be mistaken for anything else. I first made some two years ago and it does take ages until its drinkable but its one of the nicest hm reds that there is.
I can heartily sympathise with the trellis painting, i hate doing it and there is rather a lot of it in our garden!

I have been looking at the unexpected money still to come out this month. I have also failed to account for dh losing todays overtime , another £30 (plus the £120accounted for) , His overtime is a big chunk of his wages.
Plus the boys school basketball lessons £60, school yearbook £28, one of the mums is doing a leaving party for year 6 in a hall , another £25, and dd is going to the isle of wight on a reward trip which is paid for but she will need a little spending money, plus the 2 birthdays and school shoes.
I do save for the one off things but with the car service and tax this month as well it is been cleared out.
So end result is I think I have not a lot of choice but to delay starting oping fully in may. I can op some though, if I can op £334 it will mean I have paid off £10k since last may when I started.
I really like the idea of a nice round figure, its just I was hoping the round figure would be getting under the £150 k mark.:D
Anyway, dh has gone out to get the kids a mcd's take away breakfast as a treat as he is off today, I don't mind as he is paying.
I'm running very low on food so might have to get a few bits for later as I don't have the ingredients to make much either.
I best go and get dressed as I'm not sure what time the log cabin is coming :jMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi newgirly
Your new bathroom set sounds lovely and you got such a good deal! I hope I can find one as good as you later this year
Hope your wine making equipment comes soon, we borrowed a wine making book from the libary and it was a great help. One thing I'd definitely recommend making is elderflower champs if you have room for a bucket (you can't make it in demi-johns as its too fizzy) It's quick and tastes great
Here's to the log cabin :beer:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi sunnyday, sorry I missed your post this morning, I have managed to get the grape juice today by accident in a very posh expensive supermarket that I never use as the car park was full in the cheap one.:D I will definatly do a bit of research on elderberries, although I'm not sure if there is anywhere I could pick them near here.
Smlsave , I'm enjoying the bathroom already its a lovely feature in my through lounge, we told dd that we needed a second bathroom and had decided to fit it in the conservatory as it was the only space, she was squealing for a good few minutes before she realised we were kidding.:rotfl:
Today we had our log cabin delivered, the lorry could'nt fit in the access road behind the garden , so we had to carry it ! I'm seriously aching now. Its going to be so HUGE for our garden, dh thought i'd ordered the wrong one. Its going to take up half of all the space left.:oMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I've had an ok day today, attempted to go to the park with friend and her kids but it was freezing so we left straight away and went to the local old fashioned sweet shop ( like the one in willy wonka!) and I treated all of the kids to £1 each in there, a total spend of £7.50. Then we went back to hers for lunch , which was very kind of her.
The house is an absolute tip at the moment but there just hasn't been time in the last few days. I am struggling on the £10 a day budget, not the best thing to start in the holidays really, tomorrow should be cheap, I will have to get a bit of food but will go to the corner shop instead so I don't spend too much.
My dad and brother have offered to take the 2 boys to london on thurs, and the boys really want to go to the dungeons, dd went at about the same age and had to leave as she was so scared. I can't decide what to do, its my dad's treat but it will cost him about £70 to get in, and it won't be good if they have to leave straight away.
DD is off for a meal at the harvester with friends tomorrow, 13 years old and a much better social life than me.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
How old are the boys ? I had a quick look online and it looks quite good. Lads normally like that sort of thing. I know that DS4 wouldn't like it though and he's 12 , he would say he did but I know he'd be secretly scared so I always reassure him on the quiet.
There's one opening in Blackpool in September so we may go and take a look.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
They are 11 in july and are desperate to go, all their friends have been, but I know that one son will be very scared but trying not to show it in front of my dad and brother. I hate making descisions (SP?) llike these, you just can't win !MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
