Ha ha love it, that's a great plan :D

I've been a bit torn about it, but am far more leaning to the side of not having the extension.

    Wow it's hot here already!

Bathroom has been delivered and seems good, tiles for inside the shower bought - nobody else will like them  lime green flat subway type tiles, bigger than the usual ones. Spent hours looking online and various tile shops and didn't like any, went to b and q to get something else and spotted the green ones in the clearance area , exactly the sort of thing I was looking for and only £12 psqm :money: Still have to get the floor sorted.

I usuually play it safe, but I did that with the current bathroom and the current ensuite- they are bland and Ive still got fed up with them.
I'm now on the look out for some retro advertising mirrors to put on one of the walls, kind of Art Deco style hopefully.

Taking dad out later for county pub drink for Father's Day, he has swim shorts and tshirts from m and s this year which were on offer, not that thrilling but he is impossible to buy for.

No quote yet for the flooring and decorting etc. for the other two bedrooms, we had sort of decided to leave it now as it may tip us into another year for clearing the mortgage and that would be a tragedy :rotfl: only problem is dd is being a total diva and announced she doesn't want wood floor in her room only carpet (we want to do all the same, plus she is erm, a little messy......) it's her room and her choice and she will move it if we do it.

General consensus from her dad and brothers is "quick get the wood floor in" :rotfl::rotfl:

So don't know what to do now, but I don't take well to being told what to do by my dd , now know as verruca salt ;)

I think it sounds lovely NG, a real splash of colour :)

Could you compromise - wooden floor but a very large rug?

Apparently a rug is a no go as well, I offered that straight away -a massive rug the covers most of the room.....

Afraid I'm with DD here... nothing beats a cosy carpet in a bedroom (I once had laminate floor and not only did it show all the dust, but it was cold underfoot - it didn't last long!).

We have carpet up in the penthouse, but we are a lot tidier than Dd :rotfl:

Flipping useless unreliable builder didn't show up today, with an excuse I'm marking as a 3/10 for effort " I can't come today as I am picking up a new van and need to sort out the insurance and tax otherwise it won't be legal" :T ok, that's 20 mins of his day accounted for in my book!

Ah well, I'm sticking it on the list of !!!! that's NOT going to stress me out. Also on the list today is next doors son, he is he same age as my boys (almost 17) and his mates are "a bad crowd" according to my neighbour, so to improve matters she has had a log cabin the size of an aircraft hanger -an I don't exaggerate here  built over half of her garden. Yes I'm being a Hippocrate as we have one , however I have not moved my son so into our to live full time, and let their dodgy moped riding mates over all day to blast sexist rude rap music out while I am at work.

I fully see this as a result of her letting him play grand theft auto from the age of about 6. Clearly I am being judgemental, but if my son was smoking pot in the garden at 8am on a Monday morning I would be making his life a misery not building him a 'flat' in the garden.

Anyway, I am leaving now it for the moment as we ourselves can be noisy too, if gets to the point i can't take it anymore I shall have a word, I don't think it will do much good though as she works and he seems to chuck everyone out and clear up before she gets home.

This heat is doing me no good, I have turned into a very bad tempered old woman :D

Thanks Alex, I have been told by my kids that I am overreacting and to be honest they may be right!

All of our neighbours are quiet, friendly etc. and I have known the boy and his mum next door since we moved in when my boys were one. This is this first time they have really made any excess noise, I think I'm panicking what might happen on a regular basis and getting too stressed out over other stuff lately.

I'm just working up the energy to get up for work, also need to buy a radiator and some floor tiles on the way home aftwards and then I said I'd take ds2 to an unlimited cinema screening at 8pm, its going to be a long hot day.

We had some sad news last night, dds boyfriends mum has taken her own life. :( She was a troubled woman who had left when he was young but they had recently been back in touch and she had met Dd a few times. It's difficult to know what to say in these circumstances, I just feel so sorry for him.
