I am at the end of my tether, the dog has taken to barking at night  she has been barking on and off for the last couple of hours. Not constant, but enough to wake me up and then she stops, then she repeats it all. She goes through cycles of doing this sometimes , but this time has been bad, getting to bed at 12 and waking at 3 is too much and it's about the 5th time in two weeks.
My current plan is to purchase a stun gun for these nightly events, however perhaps that's the lack of sleep talking and there is a better way, any suggestions greatly received (except ones where the dog gets to sleep in the bedrooms :rotfl:)
Poor dh did a 19 hour day and then got 4 hours sleep and went back to work, the first half of the big job is due out Friday first thing and there is a lot to do still. When all is is finished in the next month or two he seriously needs a break!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
It sounds like you've got a good plan for the parking then NG!
Ooh, I hadn't thought of a stun gun - you have my total sympathy on the dog front, our cats have been waking me up in the night the past couple of weeks, wailing, thundering around, occasionally fighting (right outside out bedroom door!). It's so exhausting, isn't it? And you can't really get cross because they don't realise they're not meant to (well with cats, anyway, maybe you can teach a dog not to bark at night?). I am wondering if it's because it's spring (and even though they've been done the changing of the seasons still gets to them), or because it's getting lighter. Am hoping it settles down soon - they were quiet last night here, but I still couldn't sleep!
Hope DH gets the break he needs soon, it's hard when the work is there and you're self-employed, I knowMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Do you think something is disturbing your dog nightly?2018 totals:

Hi the madvix and Alex, I think everything and nothing is disturbing the dog, last night she went in with ds2 (she is "his" dog
anyway) not a peep from her all night. The dog is not allowed upstairs and ds2 has very occasional asthma (not caused by pet hair) so I am very reluctant, we will see how things go.
Dh has broken his own working hours record :
Weds - 6am- 11pm
Thurs - 4am through the day and night until 8 am this morning, home for a shower and straight back to work at 9am where he still is
The first part of the job has gone out on time today, if it had been even one day late the would have paid us a month later! He's trying to get the accounts and current account ready to get the factory mortgage and then put the staff wages back up, so that was the reason to push.
Personal accounts not great, I can use the cc from tomorrow bit went and did a shop at mr t yesterday spending loads including some ready meals for this weekend and wineit's just been an exhausting week, well that's my excuse, plus I have ds2 money for a college trip and fares.
£100 of peremium bonds will cover the extra spending as I don't want to borrow from anywhere else or the mortgage. Must do better next month......MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sorry to hear there's nothing immediately obvious which is waking your dog.
Your husband's work hours sound ridiculous. I must admit I'd take the payment one month later but this is probably why I've no chance of being able to clear my mortgage in 18 months.2018 totals:

He wouldn't be doing it to pay our mortgage off quicker, it's so we can apply for the business mortgage which means he can put the staff wages up which he's desperate to do.
Easter holidays here now, nothing planned except work, I did try and suggest things with the boys but they are not fussed except ds2 who will go to the cinema with me (it's dark :rotfl:) I think I'll do a family meal on Easter Sunday, other than that not sure yet.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Then he's more valiant than I.
Reading about your teenagers makes me incredibly sad. I dread my son not wishing to spend time with me but know it could happen during those years (and beyond).2018 totals:

I know I didn't want to hang out much with my parents at 16/17  Plus there is a difference between not wanting to go out places with your parents my and not wanting to spend time with them. Often the latter is fine but the former can be embarrassing, hopefully this phase is nearing the end soon! If it does happen it won't last forever Alex, plus they make teenagers difficult so you WANT to have space from them
It can be sad though, ds1 who was perhaps more of a mummy's boy growing up can be the most grumpy with me at the moment (otherwise known as Kevin for anyone that remembers the show :rotfl:)
Dh is work, next phase of job due out Tuesday but the bulk is done, the boys have been brilliant helping out this week around college too, ds2 is in today to help and ds1 is in tomorrow. I'm working from home this weekend trying to catch up with normal work. Plus a bit more washing and ironing to do.
Dd wants to start clearing the log cabin soon , we are going to use a watered down white wash inside to make it a bit seaside like, put some bunting up etc. make it a nice little summer pool room. Can't start today as we will need Spider-Man aka ds2 who rescues us from all eight legged evil things, I think there will be one or two there.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Started off well today, washing and ironing done, beds changed, lasagnes x2 made, spag Bol made for dh in the week. Then it all went wrong as I sat down and watched "big little lies" that Dd recommended and drank all leftover wine open the in the house (yes I know It's still early)
Dh is tired and grumpy and I'm tempted to book a cruise, the 4 nighter we booked for £299@ over a year ago was the cheapest we have seen, but looking today I found a 4 nighter to Guernsey and Bruges for £249 +4% tcb in may, dh could really do with the break but it seems spur of the moment to just book it, plus it will mess with the mf plans, dh says to just book it but to be fair I don't always listen to him :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Aw newgirly, your hubby clearly needs a break.... (and you need to book a holiday
