The natural history museum is wonderful, glad you're having a good summer and I hope work picks up. As much as I dislike London, I'd like to take my son when he's older to see the tourist attractions, museums, galleries and an opera at the ROH.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Hi Alex, I am sure he would love it there is just so much to do
next on my list when we have the money is an adult dinosaur snores sleepover at the natural history museum, it's for over 18's and you can wander round at night sleep in the main hall and watch late night movies - £180 each though
Work a nightmare, I've been nosing through accounts today and it's bad, dh not very receptive to any help at the moment in fact I could probably throttle him this evening. I think I need to get more involved and try to help or leave - currently the latter is more appealing!
To cheer myself up I have been looking at cars I won't buy, today's favourite is a mini John cooper works GP limited edition 2006MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sorry it is stressful for you at the moment.
You must be a really cool mum that your kids still want to do stuff with you.0 -
Hope things pick up at work, sounds like a stressful time.
Don't buy a car!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
The kids would find that funny shs, I did point out earlier that I was invited to the games thing at the weekend as "none of my friends can come" :rotfl:
Hi cath, yes work and now home ( because of work) are not good. I booked the day off yesterday for today as I didn't have much work in, very glad now as I need to calm down a bit.
Plans today, chill out and see what I feel like doingMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Oops had wine last night
diet also not going well the last few days! Oh well, get back on the horse I guess.
I took ds2 to ikea yesterday as he wanted to buy a frame for the picture (wrapping paper!) he bought at the museum on Sunday, I bought 3x new bins for the kids rooms at 95p each and that was all, no candles , no glasses bought - it's a miracle :rotfl:
Budget now down to about £200  overspending has happened in all categories except groceries and petrol so far. Reasons for this are dds boyfriends birthday present , I do save for birthdays but he was not in the list at the start of the year. Clothing is over as I bought new trainers for ds2 as well as a couple of other bits and going out is over as we are doing more as its the holidays.
It's only the 11th and it has to last until the 31stfood wise it's ok but I don't feel like going without trips out or cinema with the kids while they are off. It was so much easier when they were little as we could just go to parks or have friends over for picnics in the garden.
I have about £180 put by for spending money for the cruise in sept. We need money for a pub dinner on the Friday when we stay in a hotel he night before and spending money for a 2 night cruise. I am tempted to take £50 of that to use this month for treats with the kids.
Dh also has a change jar at work to use and £35 winning from the work euro sweepstake (that we came first and second in)
Really starting to feel the pinch lately, we used to be like this all the time but it takes a bit of getting used to again. I am glad I have set a stretching target for the next couple of years, it's still very different choosing to live on less and having to, I am very grateful it's a choice we've made even if it does get tricky.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sorry to hear work's not so good at the mo - fingers crossed it picks up sometime soon x
Sleepover sounds fun - my DS1 would love that (although he's only 16 so not old enough yet)
No idea if I caught any rare pokemon in Florida, as I haven't a clue what it's all about - it was just fun to play!
