    AUGUST update!

    Start figures:

    Mortgage £128,772.64
    Fluid. Cc. £3,286.10
    Santander cc £4224.73
    Loan. £29,060.64

    Total at Jan 1st £ 165,344.11

    As at today:

    Mortgage £63,080
    New aa 0%cc. £5,313.96
    Loan. £ 24,500

    Total today; £92,893.96

Total reduction so far this year: £72,450.15

    Total July reduction :£1448.04 11

Not such a good month as last month, but I had to pay £876 off the loan before transfering it to a new one which is not shown on the figures above.

Current monthly mortgage payments to clear in 25 months are £2585.05 , plus the loan payment and the cc payments. I do think we have ever lived off so little and that's saying something!

I keep thinking are we doing the right thing by trying to clear it so quickly as we could take a bit longer and spend some on fun or trips with the kids, I realised today that the last week long holiday they had was on Devon in 2012, that's ago already. On the other hand with them possibly going to uni in two years no mortgage would be a god send. I think I am just feeling a bit guilty at the moment!

In the past we have not had holidays as we couldn't afford them so it was always caravan breaks etc. But now we can afford it but choose to op instead of booking expensive holidays abroad. Hmm guilt factor either way, at least when they were little any holiday was an adventure, now I think it would take something pretty special to make them want to go away so us.:o

I seem to have aquired an extra 3 teens tonight unexpectedly, ds2 came home with them! I am ok about this mainly as it has proved me right - we did need to buy airbeds for summer :p

Luckily I bought bacon today at the butchers, so they should be set in the morming, it's a well known fact that teenagers just need an Xbox, a bed and bacon sarnies and/ or super noodles :rotfl:

    Thanks cath :)

Confession time- I had wine last night! Back being good from now on though.

Off to work soon and hopefully going to the cinema after work with dd, the Vue near there is doing a Tuesday special for £3.99 each plus it still works with meerkat bogof codes so it seems rude not to, either the BFG or Star Trek (again!) :D

Oops, £10.98 spent on a photo frame and coaster set for a friend for Xmas - technically still a nsd as it should come from the Xmas pot, but I'm trying to create a small surplus there so will use the misc. pot instead.

Youngest son is very much addicted to Pokemon which is good news, he has been out walking again all day :T apparently they are making a Harry Potter version soon :j

Off to make a cup of tea and search holidays, it's going to be my new hobby - planning where we will go when the mortgage is gone, you can book so far in advance on some cruises I may even put a deposit down when the bookings open for the end of 2018, it would be a big incentive to not get sidetracked :D

Dh very stressed with work or lack of it this week, hard descisions coming up soon I would think :(

Ds1 and dd are at the first West Ham game at the Olympic stadium tonight, it's full by the looks of it online  I have to collect them and my dad and brother later on from the station, it was nice seeing them all go off together in their matching tops, dd never goes anymore.

It only seems like yesterday they were in West Ham baby grows , bought by my teenage football mad brother I might add :D the time just flies by, I feel old :rotfl:

    Spending today :

£6 £1 land - sweets for dds boyfriends film hamper and a reed smelly thing - highly recommend and almost as good as posh ones :)

    £8 superdrug hairspray etc.

    £4 primarni t shirt for ds2

We went to an anniversary party last night, an old friend dh has not seen for 15 year's parents - glad we made the effort even though it seemed like we gate crashed a family do, slightly uncomfortable!

Today ds2 can't find anyone to go to the science museum's retro games fayre, so I have been invited :rotfl: it's £8 to get in so that will hammer the going out budget this month as I took dh out for a pub lunch yesterday £20  will take lunch though as I am making him go to the natural history museum if it's not crazy queues, we can eat there or in at James park.

I had a great day with ds2 yesterday, did the games fayre at the science museum then had lunch in the V&A garden by the pond and then had a drink and a quick look around at the natural history museum. We also wandered around exhibition road a while as there was so much Pokemon activity :rotfl:

    Spending:

£3 wrapping paper - to be used as a poster for ds2

£8.20 2x cokes and a ham baguette natural history cafe (he was still hungry later !)

    £14.50 tickets to get in

Plus an ice cream , but ds bought me that :D

Fares ds paid his own and mine I don't know yet probably about £10

Feeling very tired today, but luckily no work, I've had pain on one side of my rib cage for two weeks now, not sure why as I don't remember doing anything to it. Im trying to rest it, but that's very difficult!

Spending terrible, all still under budget but most sections almost up to the limit as we have been out this weekend, and I ordered ds2 his new trainers. The only thing left really is the food budget £98 out of £360 spent for August.
