Hi greent, let ,me know how the vodka goes. I attempted some "toffee" vodka made by using nearly a whole litre of Smirnoff and a pack of worthers originals and it was a vile murky beige colour so I binned it. What a shocking waste :rotfl:
Sounds like you are getting off quite lightly with a sleepover for your dd's birthday , noisy but mse
Today I went to the pub for lunch and a quick trip to primarni, where I took back a pair is trousers that were too small so hardly spent any actual money:
Red fleece with hearts on (new dog blanket) £1 in sale
Slippers £2 in sale
2x 5 packs of ladies patterned socks £1 a pack in the sale
A gremlin t shirt for ds2 not in the sale £6
Dh's dinner tonight is a bit er, experimental  pilchards in tomato sauce and chickpea curry. Not sure if it will be fab or a last minute trip to the chippy for him tonight. But it's worth a try, healthy cheap and an easy store cupboard one to do.
I also had a go at making houmous , it seems edible but not as nice as shop bought, I will probably need to try it with pitta and wine to get the full effectMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Never mind the colour, was the vodka drinkable???? Who cares what it looks like on the way down if it's palatable?!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yes - DD doesn't want a 'party' party - strange girl!! Mind you, she's planning a sleepover for that many on Dec 14th..... argh!! Far too close to Xmas for a houseful of girls (to go with my 3 boys)!!!

Didn't try the vodka just binned it
The pilchard curry experiment went really well, dh ate it and said it was gorgeous, but thought it was a veggie curry ?! So I shall be feeding him that again.
Today we have had friends over for coffee and I am looking after my friends two boys (5&7) for a couple of hours, they are so cute at that age, I don't remember mine being so cute :rotfl:
The new cc has arrived so I can sort the money transfer out once the kids have gone, its a bit scary to transfer money from loan to cc but financially it makes sense and we intended to op the loan anyway, this way we will have to.
I got another free mr t delivery today , there are 4 left until the end of August to use, I have bought lots of tinned veg as I am a bit lazy at the moment cooking lots of hot big meals , and can knock up a midweek fake "roast"almost instantly.
There were no treats except a few value ice lollies. No biscuits/crisps/snacky chocolate biscuits, even the cereal is bran flakes and shredded wheat. I thought if I buy it they will eat it, this way they are snacking on toast/ cereal/fruit instead. So far no major complaints unbelievably. There is a sweet shop a few doors up, but they seem to be too lazy to go round there :T
I did not realise that ordering online and asking for substitutions means they refund the difference if the substitution is a higher price. I ordered 550g of a well known cheddar on offer for £3 , it was oos so they have given me the same cheese in 2x 350g packs for the £3 still. If most of your trolley full is value stuff this could be worthwhileMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
LOL pilchard curry - that was what I used to make at University - memories!

I have made the transfer request for cash from the cc £9134  it should take a couple of days to go in. The fee is 4% which will go on the cc so now I guess I owe more than £175 k and will have to adjust the figures again
Better news though is one of dh's staff is retiring soon and I may be able to do her job :T I would have to be trained up and it would be for 3 or 4 days a week depending on hours but would mean getting paidI don't want the kids on their own too much and certainly need to see them off to school in the morning or they would not get there :rotfl: but she is currently doing about 22 hrs so it would be perfect. I think its around minimum wage or just above, but anything is a big help at the moment. Nothing is definite yet but it looks promising.
It's my grans 82nd birthday today so I shall be seeing her to give her a pressie, other than that I want a lazy day with maybe a nice bit of cooking, its the only day it doesn't feel like a chore, I'm not sure why!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hi southerndave, nice of you to pop in
I have been playing around with the mortgage op calculator, its a great one as you can adjust monthly one off and regular op's so I use it to work out loans and cc's too.
If I get the job working for dh and don't have any holidays and pay every penny plus dh's wages too, in fantasy land we could pay off everything we owe in 7 1/2 yearsthis seems highly unlikely as I would like us to have a life during this time but its still fun to know.;)
Tonights dinner is houmous and pitta as we are not that hungry, it is shop bought though as my umpteenth try at making it failed again the other day, it always tastes odd. To make up for it I am going to pinch my mums very posh jam maker and get a big bag of onions form the farm shop and have a go at onion chutney, I never buy it except at xmas as : 1). its addictive and makes me eat a lot of cheese and 2). its expensive.
Hope everyone is having a good weekendMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I made hummous a few weeks ago and it was far too garliky for my liking. I much prefer the shop bought.
Fingers crossed for the job. Wish I could work for my OH and not have to work shifts0 -
The boys did dh have gone to a military show today with my dad, so I am have some free time. Plan is to do a few hours work for dh , get all washing clean amd dry and clear out the airing cupboard. What a glamorous life I have
Unfortunately I have has a big spend out of the monthly budget today. As the boys are soon having their own bedrooms we had to sort who gets the huge room and who gets the seriously tiny box room. Ds2is getting the little room and I have agreed to "bribe" ds1 with fifa14 special edition on pre order £60:eek:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I am determined to get a bit more organised this week, I cleared the airing cupboard last night and managed to get a shameful 4 black bags to chuck out  lots of old duvet covers etc. I am now washing all the ones we are keeping that have not been used for a while.
One the plus side I found 4 bottles of aftershave of dh's, a couple quite expensive ones that he might not miss (well he hasn't missed!) although they have had a couple of squirts out I will ebay them as there are bonkers people out there who may good money for someone's used aftershave :rotfl:
Bread maker is on , 3 loads of washing done and a groupon bowling deal bought £9.95 for 4 for 2 games plus burgers, Which will do them for a treat one week.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
