It's a very stressed house here at the moment, dd has 2 exams today and dh has the first court hearing tomorrow (can't go into detail, but work related , he's not in trouble!) he is doing 16 hr days at the moment.
Anyway, my food budget might just be strung out until the 10th like it needs to be , I have lots of receipes I can do from "a girl called jack"'s blog using store cupboard bits I ordered the other day. Recently i made carrot, chickpea and coriander falafels which were nice. Dh has some of the dishes with added salami as he likes meat.
Having a herb garden has made such a difference to cooking, in a tiny garden it seems to save lots of money compared to veg as they are so expensive to buy fresh, plus they are all in planters and pots on my little green metal table and chairs so it looks quite quaint.:D
Another new tip I have just learned is to use the value cream cleaner for doing the bathroom and kitchen, its about 32p I think in mr s and is just as good as getting limescale off the shower as the really expensive mr m*scle one I usually but at £3-4 a bottle.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
As expected, no resolution at the hearing so we will have to take the case to court probably near the end of the year. So frustrating
On a lighter note, dd has officially left school today, although she has to go back for exams still of course. I took a last day of school photo as I did on her first day, I can't believe it has gone so fast, everyone says it will but it seems like that happens to other people's children not your own if that makes senseit was also my school and has brought back memories of my own last day which does not seem like it was 22 years ago
All the wages have been shifted about as its payday, there is nothing left except for the direct debit money. I have drawn out pocket money for the kids and dh's money for petrol and that's all there is! I still have £65 to get me through to 10th of June when I can use the cc again, but its up to its limit for this month.
I am quite pleased though, as although we are now skint for a while , I have managed to spend so little on food the last few weeks that I have ordered a video camera for dd and paid the deposit for disneyland too from this months budget, plus prom ticket and photo money and a couple of small presents for dd's birthday. Everything is looking ok except the kids are desperate to go to comic con in London tomorrow and we can only go if dh can afford to get us in which will be £38 ish I think ( if we join the 3 hour non per-booked queue) the things we do for themMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You've done brilliantly with the budget this month. Enjoy London

Yesterday went well, although the queues for comic con were 2 1/2 hrs long, we did manage to see a talk with my favourite writer/director edgar wright which was great
we drove which crazily enough turned out to be cheaper and easier than train, both around 25 mins door to door.
This morning we have had no electric and dh has been trying to sort it out, looks like it an overloaded plug in the kitchen fitted years ago and fairly easy to sort out. The twins have been traumatised with the lack of electronics and are currently shock horror playing monopoly with no blood spilt yet :rotfl:
Lunch is a a roast around my parents :T my favourite meal ever!
Hope everyone is having a good bank holiday and some sunshine , it's lovely here at the moment and yet we were supposed to have rain all weekend.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Enjoy newgirly!!
made me :rotfl: the thought of your twins not knowing what to do with themselves without electrics!! Monopoly is always a dangerous game ... hope it doesn't descent into anarchy!0 -

Ha, not sure about my two building an empire thanks to monopoly :rotfl: but they managed to play to the end when one of them won without a fight.
The food budget is dwindling a bit, I need to have a count up but bought some BBQ bits yesterday for today as we were going to the inlaws for lunch, but dh wanted to stay here and have them visit us as its easier, now I need to have a good tidy up and clean and do some food.
Op's made have been 10p per day for the last few daysMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi to everyone who has been popping in to read, iris blue have not seen you around for ages, hope you are all well, likewise Michelle
Ops made this morning 10p again, and signature updated. Another loan payment has gone out , so the balance is now £24,286. I'm still on the look out for a bed on eBay for the loft room, the ones I like seem to go for a lot still. We also need to decide on what bathroom to get, the plans have allowed for quite a big ensuite so I can have a bath :T (finally wore dh down) we need to find out if there is room for a seperate shower enclosure or if we have to have another shower bath.
Dh bought some food for yesterday's BBQ so I have cheated really as it should have come from the food budget in my purse, but we did eat almost all of it. I still seem to have lots in the freezer from the last few weeks ,the yellow sticker bread and rolls have been useful I will try and go in the evening more often.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I've made another girl alled jack receipe tonight : warm spicy Dahl. It's quite nice but I put too much water in so could have been better. Still quite a few new ones to try, and am currently having a go at my version of her herby bread with lemon, it rising at the moment.
The kids have been super lazy today, one out of three got dressed and that was at 5pm  I'll let them have today, but tomorrow am cracking the whipds has invited a few friends over tomorrow afternoon, so its forced him to properly tidy the boys' room. I will have to sort some frozen pizzas out to feed them all, my homemade ones are not suitable :rotfl:
