The bean curry was great! I have a chicken in the slow cooker at the moment, have never cooked it that way before so fingers crossed.
Hopefully it should make a few meals to put in the freezer for dh (I'm veggie).
I had a NSD again yesterday as we all stayed in as the boys were stilll tired from their school trip nd DH put up 2 new doors downstairs and the new blinds in the living room (curtesy of my Dad) They are see white see through blinds which are great as they let the light in but we have a bit of privacy which is good as we are on a main road.
I am going to try and finish the xmas shopping in the next week or two, and get it all wrapped then start decorating the hall and landing, as I still have loads of paint left. It would be nice to get the whole house looking a bit respectable as it really has got in a bit of a mess, which is probably one of the reasons that I feel like moving quite so often! I know that staying put and paying off the mortgage is the best plan, so i'm going to make the house look so good that i won't want to move.
Did'nt do any surveys yesterday so might try later if I get the chance, I'm off to the shops to have a look for more xmas pressies today, have a good day everyone.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi Newgirly, good to hear you've had a good weekend.
Did you make weezle's homemade pizza? Was it hard?
I've made her bacon and onion pudding (lovely), her no-knead bread (yum), carbonara (yum) and the risi bisi (made far too much for us!). I really want to try the tomato and olive pudding but DH won't eat olivesCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi smlsave , I know weezl does a pizza but I just made my own dough in the bm then stuck a bit of passata & chesse and let the kids choose their own toppings, pepperoni and beans yuk! to be honest they much prefer icelands pizzas not mine.
Yesterdays chicken in the sc went well although I did whip it out (well the bit bit that did'ntfall apart) and put it in the oven for a bit as it looked a bit pastySo the kids had chicken and veg , OH had casseole with some frozen veg and broth mix added, I made 2 large portions of chicken and sweetcorn pasta (with soup for the sauce) and still have 2 good portions of chicken in food bags which is all in the freezer! So it went well, however after all that cooking I couldn't be bothered to cook for me so had cheese and crackers!
Today I am out shopping with some friends, I don't have a lot left on the CC until 12th nov £109 eek! and about £70 cash so will have to be good today, will have to buy lunch but keep spending very low, but I really want to get out the house so the ironing can wait until tomorrow! Maybe I can find some other bits for DH for xmas, I have bought him a couple of tops in asda in the sale, but I've told him I don't want us to spend a lot this year on each other,
so i'm trying a budget of £40 for him , and i've already spent £24! this is way less than I usually spend and I do feel really mean so may up it if I can at some point!!
Anyway , hope everyone has a good day.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

I always promise myself that I'll stick to a budget for DH and I never doIf I have the money I'll spend it.
I'm glad to hear that not only my chicken falls apart in the slow cooker! It does make great chicken noodle soup with the left over 'juice' in the slow cookerCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Has your haifax account tracked yet Newgirly? I opened one a couple of days ago and no sign yet! I have started the daily clicks and done a few surveys. The flight finder one is really quick to do.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

No the Halifax accts have not tracked yet so will have to put in a missing cashback claim, daily clicks and surveys have shown up on the first column though - pending i think. I will have a look at the flights one as well, i've not done that one.
had a fairly cheap day, and hopefully a NSD tomorrow as i really need to stay in and tackle the mountain of ironing!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I thought i would finish off the xmas shopping today (except OH) saw the offer on boots online of a bonus 1200 points and ordered £54 of stuff for friends kids xmas and birthday, i managed to de- select the free delivery and book it for the same date at £4.50, after completing the order and paying I noticed the bonus points are for NEXT weds and thurs
So am very cross with myself I tried customer services who said they might refund the delivery cost if I ring back, but am really upset I lost out on the points, I was going to get myself something for xmas!
Still, only one more to buy for and I'm done.
Also managed to spend £15 on top up pack lunch stuff today for the kids, did'nt even get much really. So much for a NSD! Oh and most of the ironing is still there as well, all in all I've been a bit useless today I think.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Today I did a one poll survey for 15p, & a topcashback one for 70p. I might wait and see if the tcb tracks before doing them everyday though. I am doing chicken and veg curry tonight for DH with some of the left over frozen chicken from the weekend (more veg than chicken!) some peas and carrots out the freezer and value curry sauce with some indian spices added.
I have put the heating on today all day even though I was on my own as its just got sooo cold. I was trying not to have it on when its just me , I think I might start reading the meter every week , just so I don't get a big shock further on down the line.
I am feeling pleased with how I'm doing with the ops but for some reason I'm really feeling the need to go out and spend some money on some lovely warm winter clothes and maybe some nice going out shoes, everywhere seems to be full of lovely things I want at the moment! Does anyone else get like this sometimes ? I think its all the nice xmas bits and pieces everywhere.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well the heating is off and its b****y cold! I have a friend coming for lunch so it will have to go on then, I need to defrost my fingers so I can make a sandwich
went to Mr t last night and bought a couple of chickens on offer so I can do the rubber chicken thing again. Also spent far more than I should have and don't seem to have that much, will have to do lots of cake making to keep the kids topped up next week when they are on half term, they eat so much.
OH has booked a day off next week so he can see the kids while they are off, only problem being that I forgot to budget for the overtime he will lose, also he lost one days OT this week for going to the funeral. So I need to find £60 to make up the shortfall, will try and get DH to have £30 less next month and I will have to chop the food / clothes budget by £30  .
I do feel a bit guilty as I have the money for the max OP's allowed (274 PM) in the current acct to cover us until April, but am really broke at the moment, DD wasnts to go out with friends shopping and to the cinema, she always says she'll use her birthday money, but I pay as she doesn't get pocket money. I don't know if I should be spending a bit of the Op money on taking the kids out etc.
On the other hand next year there will be no money to OP with so I won't be able to steal from it, I'll have to manage on this money.
Did manage a lightspeed 80pts and a one poll of 30p so far today.
We have a fairly busy weekend, in laws tomorrow lunch time then a 90th birthday party on sat night. Hopefully a chill out day on sunday with maybe a roast dinner and DVD.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
