a little bit of quality time in primark with DD sounds a lovely way to spend a "not at school day" !
xmas suddenly seems to be looming large in my mind as well and must try and get more sorted- I dont want to spend decemeber running round the shops last minute in the freezing weather (or snow if last year was anything to go by!) grabbing last minute things as per most years... this year I shall be organised!!.... :rotfl:
sorry to hear about DHs friend, very sad and really puts things into perspective losing someone so close.. hope you guys are okay (or as ok as can be expected during these early days)
no info on tumble dryers Im afraid- even though ours is on for towels, bedding, jeans and work stuff through the winter- as michelle says nothing woudl ever get dry any other way- but helpful to know the cost, 20-30pm p/hr isnt anywhere near as high as I imagined it being!!

Well we are all packed and ready for the boys to go away v. early tomorrow, not sure if I will get to sleep tonight,I think i will feel better when they are on their way, its going to be a very quiet house this week
Anyway, I will try and keep busy be decorating if I can get a bit of motivation.
I have done one survey on topcashback 70p today, plus some daily clicks. I did go to a boot sale where I got lots of fab candles really cheap for xmas presents but OH paid, I'm supposed to pay him back next week, does that still count as a NSD or not I wonder?
I know I have well overspent from my current account, just need to work out how much by when I get the chance.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'll try and work out a bit better for the TD for you - what wattage ours is and price per KWh to try and help you get a bit better idea, just our owl is set up at our cost per kwh. I hope i got that right now and not speaking a load of rubbish.
Shopping day sounds lovely. I kind of wish i had a girl to do that with as my boys drive me mad when we go shopping.0 -
Thanks Michelle. It is nice having a girl to shop with, but shes more into books and movies than clothes, so does have to be dragged there!
Well I was right, I knew I would not sleep last night. I thought it would be because I was worried about the boys going away, but it turned out to be a combination of the dog barking , boys going to the toilet and DD throwing up throught he night. She has just gone to sleep twenty minutes before I had to get up. So she will be off school today poor thing. Now I will be able to also worry that the boys may somehow get what DD has while they are away for the week. They are not in such close contact with her like they are each other so hopefully not, I'm not sure if the teachers would ring in that situation or not, as they are quite a way away.
Right I'm off to quietly wake them up and get them ready. Really not looking forward to waving them offMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I feel a bit better now I managed to get some sleep last night. DS1 and DS2 got to their destination after an eight hour drive poor things. It is strange having just DD at home, its so quiet. I have been painting since they went yesterday, Its hard work as I bought what turns out to be rather thin paint from BQ it looks nice just will need to do a lot of coats, but I guess thats to be expected for £4 a tin!
Not sure I can finish the through lounge and conservatory in the few days they are away though.
I got my first online CC bill this morning a day later than I was expecting, so now will be able to start using it again as the next lot won't need to be paid until nov 31st, can buy some food and get the petrol light off on the car, do get told off for letting it run really low.
i haven't done many surveys as I have been so busy, but am hoping for a cheap week as I will be decorating most of the time.
We have got Dh's best friends funeral on Thurs, which I am really not looking forward to, must have a look through my wardrobe and see if I have something suitable which will fit, i have put on weight lately. Another thing to be addressed when things calm down a bit.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hope the boys didn't pick that up. I'm sure the staff would deal with them, but not nice to be away from home feeling rough is it. Hope DD is now feeling better.
I know exactly what you mean about funeral clothes not fitting. I had the same thing the other week, and i still haven't learned and started doing something about it. Life never seems to be calm. :rotfl:0 -
I can't believe how quickly this month is going, I managed to have a NSD yesterday as I was in all day decorating. I have checked topcashback and noticed that the £50 for opening a halfax reward acct has not shown as pending on mine or DHs topcashback acct. Will have to try and find out the details and submit a claim.
We had fish and chips for tea last night as I didn't have time to cook anything, so might try and do a soup in the slow cooker and a homemade loaf today. I did have a look at weezls recipe page to see if there are any ideas I can use, it looks really good but I think it would be more for me and DH as the kids are so blooming fussy! I know that I should'nt give them the option of something different but to be honest they eat after school and we eat much later. They do eat healthily but only like plain food really, they eat their veg, plain chicken , that sort of thing.
Hmm I think I might take a closer look and maybe do a proper bit of meal planning and shopping list tonight. Has anyone else given Weezls receipes a try?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Its Friday! :j
My boys are coming home this evening,I can't wait.
Its not been the best week, we went to DHs best friends funeral yesterday, which was very sad but went well, there were about 200 people so it was a big turnout.
The decorating is nearly done , just need to go over the ceilings again and hang the curtains and blinds, its looking good! So glad I made the effort as we have not done much to the house for a while.
I still have not had time to look at weezls reciepes yet, I need to sort through my kitchen cupboards too I'm sure theres stuff that can be used up in there.
I had a chat with DH this week and he won't be paying any share dividends next year, which is the money I use for overpayments, I have 6 months worth put by in the bank at the moment but I will not have any to overpay with from may
I'm not sure how I can cut the budget any more to make Ops next year. Any extra few pounds I do have at the moment I am OPing the 0% CC, I'm not sure whether to carry on doing that for the next few months or try and save any extra up to op the mortgage from next may.
Still, this time last year we owed 20k onCC's and had a 32 year mortgage so I guess its not all bad!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well i have looked at some of weezls receipes today and stocked up ona few things to make dinners for me and DH. tonight the kids had homemade pizza which only one of them liked, and wedges which two of them liked! We are having a bean curry, which i have added extra chilli as it was a bit mild for us, will be trying it later.
I have done 1 survey today 70p on topcashback, OH has an acct as well, so if we managed two surveys a day it would add up over a month , just need to remember to do it.
i think thats it for today, hope everyone is having a good saturdayMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
have you seen the thread about snapfish, tcb and quidco offer £10 for a new account and get 40 free prints just pay 99p. BOTH have tracked in a couple of hours so hope they pay out.
Might get back into daily clicks that are more than 1p or 2p. there was also cheap flights 20p on each of those sites that can be done daily by the looks of things and they have tracked on both as well. Need to look for a bit more now the free scratchies have stopped.
I am always dubious to do the surveys through cashback in case they dont track.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
