Sorry ds has had such a horrible time at school, sounds like school are wanting to deal with it and talk to him about what happened to get to the bottom of it which is positive- hope it gets resolved soon!
Couple that with the laundry flood and glass of wine definitely deserved I say!! ;o)
enjoy the black tie do - sounds fun!0 -
We have to go and collect our tent today :j They had to take it down as it had been on display. We won't be able to put it up for a trial run in the garden as its bigger than the space in our garden, will have to try it out at my mums at some point.
I need dh to go up in the loft to see what camping stuff we still have , however he (like my dad) suffers from "loft rage" everytime he goes up we get a lot of moaning/bad temper about how ridiculous an amout of un marked black bags and cr*p we have up there :rotfl: I myself can't go up there as I don't like heights and spidery places.
I have to go food shopping today, the farm shop I went to last times was very cheap for cabbages / caulis etc. but dear for other stuff especially fruit, plus I all went off pretty quickly. I'm wondering about trying an able and cole organic box as they have a free cookbook with first order (like i got from riverford before xmas) and there is a buy 3 weeks and get fourth box free deal. Best check he 0% cc to see if this months statement has been created so I can start to use it again.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
That made me laugh,my OH has loft rage,
we had a huge argument a while ago about our loft ( well he did the shouting) a pile was put in the lounge for him to take to the tip and sat there for days.
I know ive said this before but we got a tent 2 years ago now and we have camped for 1 night.OH wants to sell it all but i think we should at leats try to get a few nights away this year,we have everything electric hook up the lot.Trouble is OH cant do cheap nights out,it always involves eating out and drinking way to much.If that cant be done its not worth doing.Have you started looking for sites and do you go for ones with entertainment.?
we went here for our 1 night and i would do it again as i want to see Keith Harris,Bay city rollers( showing my age now) and trextasy.

I love camping but our tent got damaged by high winds in Scotland a few years ago & it's been stuck in the loft ever since!!
We prefer the quieter sites & used to just sit outside the tent having a bbq & drinking wine
Hope you get lots of chances to use your tent, newgirly, I think your kids are the perfect age for camping.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Up way too early today after too much wine last night, a very good party though.
I am hoping to do a trial run of the tent today in mums garden, we collected it yesteday and the bag its in take up most of the boot, so it looks like we will have to buy a roof box. I priced them up at halfords on the way home and we are talking around £350 for box / rails , but going on ebay I think we can get rails for about £75 and a large holdal style roof bag for £55 ish so will go for that once we are sure its all correct for our car.
Buying this tent has started a lot of spending, yesterday I bought the twins a new sleeping bag each as theirs are paper thin.
Nto, we have only been for 3 nights in total in the past, but I was recommended to go to a "best of british" campsite, they are not the cheapest, but have the most awards- most importantly for me some of them have awards for their loos! Maybe you could get your dh to one of those a bit further away in a more holiday destination so you could go out and about in the day as you would on a normal hol, but somewhere with less entertainment at night, thats where we end up spending when we stay in caravans. I have looked at the parks you have put up in the link before , when we were going to book a caravan once, it looks good but the important question is - what are the loos like? :rotfl:
Pink poppy, I find drinking wine is the only way to get to sleep while camping, I am a bit of a nervous camper. Will you be camping again at all this year? Its so temping when you compare the price of camping to basically every other holiday type and you are trying to save money.;)MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
The loos were fine, especially early in the morning.and i just wore flip flops in the shower.
We really need to do more as we have also spent a fortune on equipment and i keep looking at more as well, like canopy extensions and awnings. ive been once .....and i want to buy more stuff to sit in the loft.
Did you buy the electric hook up thingy?MAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

I don't think we'll be going camping this year as we really need a new tent. The fibreglass poles snapped on our last one (with some of the fibreglass ending up in my fingers ~ goodness me I still remember how much that hurt _pale_).
I've been wanting to buy a bigger & stronger tent for the last couple of years (I know which one I want but it's expensive!!) but tbh, my DH is not so fussed on camping now. Which is ironic as we now have a car big enough to fit everything in, whereas before we were squashed up in a smaller car like sardines as we didn't have a roof rack. Good times!! :rotfl:'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Btw, I would definitely recommend booking campsites as far ahead as possible as the good sites (with good loo ratings!!
) get booked up fast.

Ouch Pinkpoppy, that sounds painful! I don't think I am a natual camper, but I love looking at tents and buying camping bits
nto, at least we managed 3 nights before buying new stuff!
I was going to book a site called broadhembury in kent where we have been before, but had not realised that over jubilee weekend when we were thinking of, they do a blanket cost of £155 for up to 5 nights and we were only going to go for 2 nights while dd is away. There normal june weeknd 2 night deal is £36 incl free kids.
I'm pretty annoyed at the moment after ringing dh at work today he has checked the rotas and he can't get anytime off over the 1/2 term or before we go to devon as its all booked up  Its his own fault for not thinking ahead as to when the school hols are, there are only him and his assistant manager with kids, so we are much more limited when we can go away. Grrrr!
Anyway, its all ready to go as we put it up yesterday and I vacumed all the spiders out and washed the floor, I'm machine washing the bedrooms just incase as well although I'm not sure if you are supposed to.
I have to go shoppping for birthday presents today, do a few hours for dh and I'm going to steam clean the kitchen as its on the flylady to do list this morning.
Hope everyone had a good weekendMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I've had a good day today as my new shoes turned up, actually their are jointly owned shoes between me and my dd
they are fabulous black sparkly wedges by irregular choice, £100 reduced to £19.99 , I took back the m &s ones I bought last week which were the same price to pay for them.
Apart from admiring my lovely shoes I have done some cleaning, and work for dh today.
Its been ages since I did any surveys or ebaying, so I need to make a bit more effort with it all, the house is bursting at the seams with stuff we could sell if I could be bothered.:o Dh has just agreed to help me decorate the twins room this weekend, this has been promised many a time since we bought all the stuff months ago, I just can't face doing it alone its too big a task ( the clearing of toys and toot, not the painting!) we really need new flooring as well as when dh laid the old laminate we ran out 2 inches from the wall, i might have a look at bq online to see if there are any good offers.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
