Hi there Lulabelle, thanks for posting. Funny you should mention that as I have recently started cleaning! Only one or two a week at the moment, and I work for my hubby at home as well. I think it does hit home sometimes when a survey takes 20 mins and you get 75p, although I could be doing them in the evening instead of mooching on mse.:o
Will probably still do valued opinions as it is only a £10 payout, but skip onepoll, i just don't have the patience.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
:j DH is collecting the new car today after work, I am a bit excited! Slightly worried that petrol will be a bit more as its a 1.6 and ours is a 1.4, although i don't drive much now the kids are at senior school round the corner.
I am going to lunch at one of my girlfrinds houses today, this morning I had arranged to go shopping to wilkos with one of them, but not sure if that is still on. TBH, I could do with a few hours to tidy/iron and check the accts. plus I am rather broke at the moment.
Spooky coincidence here , but my friend has taken her family to lapland before xmas, and after looking at the photos I said to dh think that is probably my dream holiday, snow, santa and the northern lights! We should go when we can afford it one day as we should definatly see the northern lights. He then comes home and tells me yesterday we won't need to go as you can see them in yorkshire, I thought it was a wind up, but there it was on the news this morning, they have been spotted in many different places. Did anyone on here see the lights by any chance? It has not helped persuade him that we should go to lapland instead of vegas when the mortgage is paid off!:rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Its been a strange day today, my best friends little boy poorly in hospital not sure exactly what with and then another friends mum rushed in with heart problems, so I had her son after school.
Dh collected the car tonight and I took it out for a quick drive tonight in the dark whilst raining, very bright of me! It seems ok though, will have a proper look tomorrow.
I have decided to pay some of this months "up the income 2012" earnings to the mortgage, I was going to split it 50/50 holiday fund / mortgage. However, I am so tempted to spend more than I should, so I op'd £200. I will save the rest though.
£200 extra earnings on top of everything else if dh gets his paycut back would clear it in july 2018, so I am aiming to try and find that extra per month.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done on the OP especially in the difficult month of January. Hope your friends relatives are better soon and it's nothing too serious for them both.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

I hope everyone is OK, L0 -
The new car is great, however it missing its mats, dh collected it in the dark and did'nt notice I will ring and ask them if they have any but I don't hold out much hope.
I went to mr t last night trying to get a washable floor sweeper that is impossible to find, they did'nt have it but I did stumble upon a few people crowded round some reduced veg, so sharpened my elbows
I got :
2x bags parsnips....5p
2x bags spuds.......5p
1x kale.....4p
1x large bag spinach...5p
1x bag greens..5p
1x casserole mix....5p
Also a pack of turkey pieces £1.19 and bacon for 89p. I have already made a spinach bhaji x2, and am making some mash at the moment. Will do some roast parsnips to freeze and some parsnip soup the rest will have to be eaten quite soon.
Dh is very fed up at work at the moment, so I was trying to think of something to do at the weekend to cheer him up, a day out or trip to the cinema.
Its a bit cold and wet though! We are close to london but would have to top up everyones oyster cards which will be a lot so I want to drive really, I might have a look at martins days out to see if there are any good ideas there.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hi Peonie, I have frozen 2x portions of mash in those plastic takeaway boxes, although I don't know if you are supposed to , will let you know what its like!
I am currently making bombay pototoes at the moment with some of the potato surplus , we are having a homemade takeaway indian tonight made from the super cheap veg I got the other day, I sound very frugal and :A, however I failed to mention the wine I've bought to go with it.:D
Its the 28th and i would like to do a month end round up, but have not had time to go through the accounts yet as have been dealing with my 3x boys (the twins and dh), the house is now quiet for 10 mins as they have gone out to look at car mats at halfords, bliss, coffee and mse.
Back later with a better idea of what got paid.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Years ago I would make potato cakes from left over mash but these days we tend to eat it all no matter the quantity.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I make it with milk and whatever spread we have at the time as well. The bombay pototo i made got overcooked and is more like mash, it smells nice though. DH is currently cooking spanish omlette for lunch for himself, so more spuds gone.;)
Went into town this morning and got the m&s meal deal, which we don't need as we have curry tonight, but they had the oakham chickens and tiramisu so I could'nt resist. I need to update the grocery challenge today and see how badly i have failed, just spent on pizzas, drinks and sweets as well for dd's friends who are all over this afternoon to use the hot tub, you can't not feed them though.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
