Back home again after a 7 hour drive and then a big mr t shop. We had a great holiday, the kids did sea fishing and kayaking.
I spent around £250 which was not too bad, but dh spent lots and lots.:o

So much washing and unpacking to do though , thats the worst bit.
I've also had to go looking for my cat again who was up the road, managed to get her back , but shes gone out again.

I shall go through the finances tonight, i'm very tired but have been missing mse and working out figures :D

Feeling much better today, lots of washing done just a couple of fresh loads to do, and a ton of ironing. The cat is back and snuggled up next to me, and the dog was returned to us from her hols with the inlaws last night, so we are back to normal.

I have still not been through the accounts yet, but everything should balance more or less ok as I've written down what was spent on the cc while away.
So much still to pay for with two starting secondary school in a few weeks I have'nt even started yet.

OPing starts properly in oct, when we plan to pay each month :

£404 off the 0% CC (clears end june 2012)

    £434 approx mortgage interest

£1022 either op's or savings , still not decided yet!

Monthly income is £2540 including new £44pm child tax credit.

Not much room for cut backs, will see how it goes :D

I have just transfered £15 across from my current acct to the mortgage , I can't really op at the moment until the overdraft is gone , and i have a lot to pay for at the moment but I just had to pay something, so I don't feel like I've ground to a halt.

The new diet has started again as I put on around 4lb last week:eek:
I am aiming to lose 22lb, it may be better to start when the kids are back at school, but I'm going to give it a go this week anyway.

Moneymaking wise, I think I need to have a proper look at tcb as I've only had small odd amounts recently,I think there can be lots more made by signing up to stuff, and maybe checking out when contracts on phones etc end. When I first started i was getting £100 odd a month for the first few months.

Today I'm taking the boys to get some uniform, only the bits that can be bought at normal shops, I shall save buying all the really expensive school colours clothes and PE kits until next time, I feel i have an expensive shock coming!

Is there a thread on here about it at all?

Hi cath, i have never seen a tcb thread on here.

Bought some uniform yesterday, not the expensive stuff yet though, but still managed to spend over £100. Today I am supposed to be blitzing the house but am on here and watching harry potter again with the kids! Its nice to sit around the house sometimes though , we were out all day yesterday, at a BBq sunday, busy saturday.

We are supposed to be out tomorrow as well, I have'nt even finished unpacking completely yet.:o

I've been looking on the chelsea website (my provider ) and they have just started doing fixes for 5/6/7/10 years, you can fix at about 3.99% for 5 years i think it was. If I was definatly definatly staying here i would be very tempted to fix for close to the length of the term we are aiming to have left.
I know there are better rates but it would be good to have the security of knowing it won't shoot up a lot in the future especially as we have a fairly big mortgage.

Today, I have done something a little mse, and taken ds2 to the access road behind our garden and picked lots of blackberries which i spotted whilst looking for the cat the other day, ds2 even ate some which is quite a big thing as he has always turned his nose up at them in mr t ( where they were £3.99 for a tiny punnet!) will have to go back again tomorrow as they will all be eaten by then.

I don't think they're bad rates for fixes, I can find very little on the Halifax site. I would prefer to stay with them as we have never had any problems and could do without switching hassles.

Have you managed to find any cashback offers on TCB, i took out a post office CC for £50 and after a claim it has finally tracked! I have house and car insurance renewals coming up so that should top my account up nicely.

Erm, I have been too lazy to look today!

I already have plenty of cc's one 0% which will be cleared by the end of the deal, plus one I use for day to day spending on food etc which is cleared in full. I also have old ones with zero balances, I'm just wondering if it will affect me applying for a re-mortagage next may if I apply for a new card or two through tcb?

I think you do have to be aware of your credit rating as you apply for new things. I try and cancel any cards I don't need otherwise it looks like you have loads of potential debt.
